Thanks for the heads up, went to sri petaling branch was a NO & had to persuade a little to get it (promo rate at OTC) still better than the other branch I mentioned vast difference in treatment.

Did 15 @4.05% interest every 6 mth, monthly only 50yrs old and up (think back should have just gone with muamalat 6@4.05)

placed FD on monday at BI 4.15%, as usual have to;
- fight for today effective date FD
- fight for today same day issue cert
- wait 1.5 hours

despite using bank cheque/draft and at low peak time. no SA though.

Lucky all successful ... if not because of the high rates, I wont go to this slow proud bank.

because I receive that message from friend saying closing which prompt me to find suitable branch (flexible type) to do placement.

btw from my experience (may differ from yours) using banker cheque (not personal) without SA for same day effective with cert;

- seksyen 18 branch very closed minded everything cannot, must follow book & open SA.
- Subang branch also a solid NO even when you pull the "your lost, shall take my money and invest elsewhere" card. must open SA
- PJ state must open SA and will consult with HQ but in the end cannot too
- menara BI will only be flexible if high figure and must open SA, guess need 7 figures as mine upper 6 also cannot.
- Sri petaling branch allowed after some logic exchange + "invest elsewhere" card pulled, no need open SA.

Different RM have different priorities and knowledge even from the same bank or branch what's more he/she dont even have a base which makes it harder to
negotiate with his/her RM. There is no problem in asking here even if it's a silly question, you don't know their situation.

I too do not trust my RM most of the time and always get second opinion no matter how strong your answer is.

No extra for both pure FD and the combo one ... still 3.9% & 4.05%, maybe my amount not large enough.

Yours could be different story as your upper limit is double of mine.

Parked mine at HLB @3m 3.65% temporary.
