Depositors are creditor of banks. They will be ranked before sub debt holders and shareholders and after fixed charge holders.

The bad experiences are likely because CS from call centre are not 100% knowledgeable on everything simply because theyre not on the ground (work at branch). There will be something they need to confirm with branch staff or seek clarification from higher top.

I do agree some CS seems clueless about ongoing promotion but it is understandable so as long they able to clarify and revert correctly in the end

If you face difficulties going to the branch or having to make appointments, please get in touch with the supervisors/staff at your specific branch by contacting their toll free number 1st and asking someone from that branch to contact you via whatsapp.

For renewal of existing FDs, you can communicate to have it renewed via whatsapp 1st and then officially asking them to give you their official email contact to give instructions for renewal to the existing promotion without having to return the physical FD cert. Returning of FD cert can be done when travel restrictions are lifted.

Status of renewed FD can be viewed in your online BR account. You can collect the cert when travel restrictions are lifted.

BR FD holders, please communicate with the branch ppl there as to how you want to have your FD renewed, automatic renewal means board rate.

They can only execute renewal process via email only (if renewed to promo rate and have interest credited to SA). In case your FD has matured and renewed to board rate, you can also ask for it to have it on the promo rate BACKDATED. thumbup.gif BR is flexible.

In case if you wanna top up to a matured FD (or going to mature FD), you can also do so provided you transfer fund there 1st and ask BR to do it. BR is flexible. Some branch processes are different, because to move funds from BR SA to BR FD may require to sign a cash withdrawal form. Some branches don't have this requirement. Better check with BR 1st

You don't ask, you dont get. Spell what you want to BR.

Of course you can talk to them 1st via whatsapp to pre-emp impending renewal.

I cannot give the direct hp no.s as this is against lowyat TOS.
