That is the inconsistency even in the same bank. I approached the Affin BM that I knew.

Anyway putting the FD in other places.

But need to praise Affin that they will calculate the weekend interest for you without customer asking . Some banks just close one eye, some don't give even if u ask.
*
thanks good to know and yet to see as I have 1 maturing on this 17th, will try it out.
yes affin are infamous for their terms inconsistency, experience before.

Are u sure its 30 days? iinm should be atleast 3 months.
*
It was 1 month and I have been locked out before too a few times even send a few email and they call me too on this matter.
Affin only just recently changed it to 3 months I think somewhere 2nd half last year if not mistaken (don't quote me on this).

still waiting for an affin phone app though, so inconvenient without an app for versatility.

rates down again real sad just when mine maturing.

I confirm that it is indeed for Priority Banking customers only. Many thanks!

I have received notice from RHB that all Premier Banking customers must have at least RM200K in FD .... plus a minimum of RK10k in their savings/current account at the end of each month. Otherwise, a fee of RM50 will be deducted monthly.
*
new rule ? other banks have something like this too ? this is interesting ... I dislike being force.
Any links or more info for further reading ? thanks ahead.

There's a minimum AUM for premier/ priority banking.
Some banks eg HSBC. STD chartered charge a fee if the AUM falls below the minimum. Just ask to be removed as premier customer if don't want to pay.
*
I know about the requirements just that I thought if you go under the limit, you will automatically not be premier that month/period instead of a fee charged.
have to take note and check now. thanks btw

For amount higher than RM10000, need to use their apps. Haven't try but this is what the CS said. I did RM9999 last time too  sweat.gif
*
Is it a full fledge mobile bank app like maybank, RHB, HLB or just for that secure mambo jumbo stuff only ?

They do not have one as far as i know, been asking them to have one for years ... so inconvenient.

I think a little cross over is nothing to cry/complain about as long as it it related somewhat to the thread topic, in this case FD.

Plus it is a good general knowledge and a good fire starter for those interested to then later search related thread of said discussed topic, in this case SG FD.

Thank you to all who contribute, one can never get enough of informations.

side track, going from normal to invikta what are the extra you get/forced onto ? (besides the better FD rates)
any extra charges/fees you have to pay ?

I was offered a year++ back, I rejected when they say need to open invikta CA & take the invikta CC. (RM25 for CC I don't need)

The FD rates are nice though.

I too need a link for this or the T&C sheet (if any, thanks) as what constitute a "fresh fund" keep changing within same bank, banks or promos.

I will chat with CS later on this.

Edit : CS is useless gave wrong info, went to branch and enquire FF = <7 days, placed for 6 mths @3.25%

if I remember correctly BI the FD placement is branch specific this means upliftment must be done with the same branch can anyone re-confirm this ?

My last FD with them was like above.

Edit: both affin & BI need to uplift same branch ... anyway just placed my FD, cert need to come back collect when cheque cleared and date follow clear date (damn !) also whole process is slow af.

u bring cheque or u have account at BI?  if bring cheque , the effective date is same day or after clearing?  need collect the Fd cert 2 days later?
*
I brought bank cheque and the effective date for FD cert. is upon cheque cleared date.
I put 1 year so no need open another SA, just collect BI bank cheque when matured/uplift.

My FD cert dated the same day I deposit my banker's cheque, and cert collected on the spot, no upon cheque clearance ( 2 days later). The branch is Dataran Pandan Prima, Ampang
Yeah, Affin is losing it competitive rate  tongue.gif
*
This is why I say bank branch is very important, the stupid branch I went to insist hard-on effective date is when cheque cleared and mine is banker's cheque not personal.
Since the next nearest branch is some distance away, I just give in and proceed.

btw just to repeat info, the BI branch I went to is at Section 18, Shah Alam.
Effective date is upon cheque cleared and collect cert then (5 days later including weekends)

The Subang Jaya one should be better, I will try that branch next round if any.

it's just you or a select few, I see no difference to when I first engage BI 5+ years back when they had a 4.5%-4.7%@12mths and that famous 7 step-up thingy.
it's a little faster when you have a record with them. Their requirement is as dumb and strict as ever, this is the seksyen 18 branch.

On another note, I just place 3mths@4% at Bank mualamat (subang jaya branch) all cannot, I insist to walk out only they let go the SA but effective date is on banker's cheque cleared date (they print it 21st Nov) giving reasons not cleared how to give interest blah blah, cert collect when the cheque actually clear after 21st onwards.
I wont engage BM again unless extremely high rates. should have just renew with affin and safe a trip+time.

is FD upliftment on behalf still valid nowadays ?

whereby I signed an authorised letter with bank pre-informed for someone non-related to uplift my FD on said date at said branch as per the letter.

so currently the best FD rates at least for this week can i say the following;

6 mth
Alliance @4.2% (branch specific)

12 mth
Ambank @4.0% to 4.9+% (provided one completes all those requirements)

I most probably will be going to alliance for that 6 mth as got a few maturing this friday.
Do inform if there are better rates. thanks you.

I placed OTC 18 months, I got monthly interest
No, Am Bank did not scam you
You placed OTC? Why did not ask for monthly interest?
Monthly interest can deposit to KDI to maximize interest profit.

Can I have the link to this ambank 15 /18 mths promo or the promo name ?
I only have the same mths but strictly E-online promo.

I think so. I went there to open savings acc to do efd. The officer told me if do otc, can ask for monthly interest rates. So, I assume it is possible.
*
I think is branch specific cause I visited kk, subang, PJ state & KL kwan seng branches all do not allow, strictly e-online no OTC. btw I am not premier customer.

Mind telling me which branch you went to ?
