Refer to the T&C, online FD does not qualify for monthly interest. Only branch FD is qualified, probably is a Mi FD account.
*
It's a good time to go to the branch. I was thinking to just place a few k as an excuse to go there and collect angpow packets laugh.gif

HLB otc 2.39% confirmed?
*
I dont have an acc with HLB so I didn’t check, but based on the table compiled by cclim at previous page, yes it seems so. That guy is a serious FD player here 😃

OPR meeting is 1 month away and as we know outcome is uncertain. No offence meant but what is your intention in highlighting this?
*
Some people depends on such forecast to plan their FD.

Isn't this happened last month?
Majority of the analysts and economists said will cut OPR back in January 2021 but BNM final decision is to keep the OPR
*
BNM is known to spring a surprise or two. I am no analyst but nowadays I will approach the OPR meeting expecting a cut. So that if it really cut, then meets my expectation but if it is maintained, syukur. Expecting an increase is like setting for a huge disappointment.

The 12m 2.28% OCBC is for OTC only or eFD too?

The rate shown at online portal is just board rate and every time I click next to proceed, the portal goes offline. So unable to test to confirm the promo rate.

It is online FD.

Once you login to your ocbc online account, you need to click on the advertisement of the promo. If you did not see the advertisement, click on the triangle on your right side top part to expand it.

Thanks mate, been searching high and low for the banner. Found it!

I think it's time for me to open a CASA with Affin bank to start enjoying their FD rates. From your experience, how long it takes to open a CASA with Affin minus the queuing time?

And if open a joint CASA, can I make an eFD placement with joint names too?

Managed to open the BSA around 30 min. Okla. Yet to try to make the eFD, finger crossed. OCBC loss is Affin gain.

I thought you have brand loyalty to UOB and OCBC. whistling.gif
*
I thought so too laugh.gif But OCBC online portal let me down while UOB really need to start offering eFD as well. I been wanting to do Affin FD for a long time because they have been offering a high rate. Just the branch location put me off. Good thing during CMCO, there is no queue inside the bank at all too.

You can try to get them to come to your house/office with the forms and reader. They did it for me.
*
Cool. The officer offered to come to my house when I applied CC previously too but am not comfortable with that, also don't want to cause inconvenience as my house is not in the city area.

Cuts in OPR rates coming in March and I don’t think there’s any co relation between KWSP dividend payout n fd rates ... but do correct me if I’m wrong .... open for discussion
*
Why do you think OPR will go down in March?

Hi Guys, Mind about the low OPR that affecting the interest rate of FD. But I still have to put some emergency fund as my Fix Deposit.
Did anyone here actually tried before by walk in and getting a high interest rate that is not shown on the board?
Lets say I'm putting MYR 30K for 3years, will they give us a better rate?
*
It usually require a higher amount to be able to negotiate a better rate than the board rate, and advisable to call in beforehand.

Question: If I uplift my eFD from MBSB before the maturity date, how soon will I get back my money in my MBSB savings acc ? Is it almost immediately or need to wait a few days ?
*
No experience with MBSB. It is immediately when uplifting from banks like OCBC, PBB, UOB, Ambank, MBB...

It would be helpful if everyone here writes down the reason for transferring out the rmoney as "Placing FD at Bank ... at higher ... % for ... mths". This will give a strong and convincing quantitative feedback to the bank management to raise their rate when they see proof of the trend. I do this always nowadays, and yes the banks do respond with a better rate after I done it although the benefit falls on others and my later maturities.
*
Yes, I would like to emphasize on this last paragraph. I always do that too, it gives out a subtle message.

^ Maintain as many as speculated. Hope Affin will offer the FD offer again soon. Need to take out maturing FDs from Ambank.

I also have two fat cows at Ambank maturing soon. But decided to put the money in proton for X50. The delivery is delayed so long already, would have not expected that I can pay the car with these FDs biggrin.gif
*
Nice, blessing in disguise and can put the FD to good use.

I am steering clear from Ambank for a moment unless they give a really good promo rate.
