QUOTE(PSS2020 @ Jul 22 2020, 01:17 PM) BR the staff told me it's online banking only can view, can't do online transaction. So i didn't bother to apply the debit card. Just walk in if I wanna do transaction. There is a DuitNow function at BR online banking. Can’t say it works or nor as never transfer out before. It’s very hard to take out fund once you placed it as Fd in BR coz will keep renewing them haha

QUOTE(sweetpea123 @ Jul 30 2020, 12:49 AM) Hopeless, I said "everything you have to crosscheck with the branch , you are wasting my time and your time". Her answer : " Thank you for calling " Actually just wanna check if I bring a cheque, can I get the receipt on the spot or come back 2 days later? And effective date? IIRC, some branch practised different SOP . I sort of get confused by Bank Rakyat n Bank Islam, so just wanna confirm again. Thanks Mum, I did try before, machine ask me to call 1300 Very incompetent indeed. Makes me think twice before placing with them. Dread going through the process of opening FD with them, dunno how many hours it will take. Calling them already left a bad taste in the mouth THANKS ALL SIFUS FOR YOUR REPLIES. REALLY APPRECIATE IT . Was hoping that someone liasing with Bangsar branch can give me their RM's/BM's number. Do they have RMs btw? Can only collect after 2 days if you bring a cheque Effective date follows the day of placement, not affected Next time just ask here and save all the heartache

QUOTE(sweetpea123 @ Jul 30 2020, 03:28 AM) It's really up to the bank to 'change' and 'improve' . Me as a potential customer can only air my "grievances" here. I tried telling CS but what did she say? lol. Anyway, common sense arent really common these days. I used to work in HLB decades ago. We have urgency in things we do, sadly work attitudes are different these days. Might just stick to the bank I am comfortable with even though the difference in rates do make quite a difference. Cons outweigh the pros here. I have to add, my experience with BR here has been positive most of the time. At least they don’t try to manipulate or mislead you with wrong info such as my experiences with several other banks as they attempt to hit their targets. I would say that BR serves a different purpose as a cooperative bank. P/s didn’t use multi quote as on mobile and just saw this post

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jul 30 2020, 09:23 AM) As for BR using cheque, I heard from my relative that they still give the FD cert on the spot with eff date on the same day. I used another branch the last few times recently but I Rentas or online transfer in the fund, so no issue for me. But that branch that I used, use to send the FD cert to my place, last time when I used cheque. Same day or the next day. Eff date still the placement day. Banker's cheque or personal cheque? They process it differently? My post above is for Banker's cheque

QUOTE(??!! @ Jul 30 2020, 11:14 AM) Actually I had the same questions in addition to whether the promo rate was applicable to my FD which was matured at that time. Eventually went to bank and 1. Renewed FD at promo rate 2. Gave them my personal cheque. EFFECTIVE date on placement date. 3. Received certificate on the spot. No need wait for 2 days clearance. The officer told me the practice of waiting for 2 days to issue certificate (pending cheque clearance) is practised at some branches. So it appears that, like the free gift , this practice is branch specific. That might explain it. No reason for my branch not to issue the cert on the spot if they could. They are always rather apologetic when they mentioned about the 2 days collection. Anyway I am fine with it as long as they still offer among the highest rate bottom of the chain or not

QUOTE(frostfrench @ Aug 5 2020, 09:25 AM) Good Morning. Is it easy (will have many questions) to open Bank Rakyat FD 11months ? I have 1 million FD mature today in Alliance, and plan to move to Bank Rakyat. Yes, not much question. Is there any question that you are evading?

QUOTE(frostfrench @ Aug 5 2020, 09:58 AM) Thank You. not evading. Because the money is from sale of land, last time when place in Bank Islam, they ask many questions and ask to provide info, I didn't go for it. Do u have to open a banking account or just pure FD can with bank Rakyat I see. I can tell you the BR branch that I deal with is pretty laid back. I have both SA and FD with them. For the 11m promo, you have to open a CASA, if I am not mistaken due to interest crediting condition. add: However, there may be some SOP set by Bank Negara when the amount exceeding a certain threshold, hence the questions This post has been edited by Human Nature: Aug 5 2020, 10:03 AM

QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Aug 7 2020, 04:14 PM) New to bank cannot get the rate? QUOTE(senghock @ Aug 7 2020, 06:36 PM) looks like only for EXISTING depositors/customers A. Campaign Eligibility 1. This campaign is only open to the following individual with Malaysian citizenship including Permanent Resident (PR): a) EXISTING Term Deposit-i depositors (individual, joint and trustee); b) EXISTING customers who hold or subscribe any products of Bank Rakyat. Bank Rakyat employees are EXCLUDED from this campaign. I believe new customers can open CASA to be eligible for the promo rate. Go and try your luck
