QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jun 18 2017, 09:41 PM) Few yrs back I OTC RENTAS fund from matured FD out from UOB and used cheque to place new FD to promo rate. All at the same counter, same time. The counter lady did not say anything about that. This may or may not work now. I have asked several times if I can get the promo rate for uplifted amount, answer is always no even if I offer to top up by 10k In early May, I uplift FD from UOB and was offered FD promo rate. I declined as I wanted to move to CIMB for the 4.2% FD. So u can ask UOB if they can offer u the promo rate also. But unless u wanted to do online termination and xfer funds out. Which I have done before as it is convenience for FD lower than say 50k. No need to go to UOB to do it. Suppose to be 2/10 but they could terminate it earlier. PIDM protected. |

QUOTE(gsc @ Jun 19 2017, 10:45 AM) Made a placement on 6 June. 12 month rate was 4%. Saw the ad stated promo started in May...how come the counter staff didnt inform me.... QUOTE(gsc @ Jun 19 2017, 09:05 PM) Somehow i hesitate to place more in Bank Muamalat even though the difference is big. I placed mine with uob on the 14th, was informed about it by the teller as I was going for the normal 4% promo. Yes, ending on the 30th.Has placed in Cimb for its flexibility on withdrawal and today UOB FD Plus 12 months at 4.08% for its monthly interest. It is quite straight forward to place FD Plus for UOB existing FD customer who has a saving account. I was told that this new rate was only available on 15 June and will end by June 30th. |

I have a BC from UOB, if I bring it to OCBC to convert to a BC under OCBC, will it be on the spot or need how many days to clear?

If I bring a banker's cheque to Bank X to place an FD, and subsequently uplift it on the same day, is Bank X able to issue a banker's cheque on the spot? Is there a penalty for FD upliftment on the same day? Thanks

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jul 2 2017, 07:40 PM) Well, I paid RM0.53 for BC from FD upliftment (RM2.80 if BC is from SA). I am their PB so not sure if it is for their PB only. got it thanks, I have 4 certs to be uplifted, so 4 x RM0.53 will be no different from a single RM2.80 then. 2 x RM2.80 gonna be a different story |

QUOTE(RitzyHoke @ Aug 24 2017, 03:15 PM) Got an SMS from UOB offering 4.1%, but I only have a credit card and no current account. The thought of going to the bank and setting up an account is kinda off-putting ... Most FD from UOB do not require you to have a CASA (unless required so for monthly interest deposit purpose). You still have to go to the bank to open an FD account once. Most promo rates have to be placed over the counter anyway too. What would you guys do? I have placements in CIMB and in Maybank right now.
