Now what era, where got people still go to deposit or withdraw small amount at the counter.
The staff will piss you off by asking you to do it at the CDM/CRM/ATM or do online.
*
That's what the staff told me ler, even specifically need to withdraw cash so CDM doesn't count. I been dutifully doing it at UOB/OCBC/Ambank for few years already. You mean you guys don't do this at all and no dormant charge?

What is earmark period?

Is this understanding correct?: CASA money placed under earmark period means we cannot touch the money until that earmark period ends.
Correct

I forgot on which page I read that a forumer immediately withdraw CASA after placing his FD. In this case, there is no earmark period for this CASA right?
No earmark for this case

BR has also reduced 12m to 2.65%. It was still 2.75 two weeks ago.

My FD will mature in Bank A.
I want to renew this FD in Bank A.
But Bank A says to renew this FD, it has to be fresh fund.

So, in order to renew FD in Bank A on the same day,
can I do all these by noon time on the same day (so that do not lose any interest)?
(1) I rentas this FD from Bank A to Bank B early in the morning.
(2) Rush to Bank B.
(3) Rentas back to Bank A from Bank B
(4) Bank A receives fund from Bank B as fresh fund.

Is this method possible?
Or do you guys have any better ideas? Thanks
*
Recent experience, rentas took just 1 hour so it may be possible. I only did rentas one-way though. For the 'return' journey, I went to Bank B and made banker's cheque as didn't want to risk it

Luckily I saw your message. My UOB FD is supposed to mature today and planned to uplift it online. Saw that the maturity date changed to tomorrow as today is public holiday.

Interesting, it's been quite some time since BR come out with a promo. Hopefully this is an indicator that other banks will follow suit.

Could you kindly share where I can find information on Bank Rakyat 3.00% FD? I checked the Bank Rakyat website but can only find 2.95% for 60 months.

meh i just called, luckily didn't go straight to the branch, so to get this promo you'll have to be their existing customer for purchasing their "financing product or something", i mean seriously this thread needs to be more transparent cos recent promos just feel like bait
*
Err, what it got to do with this thread being transparent. we provide info that we have and if you are interested, contact the banks. No one is baiting doh.gif

i should have understood the meaning of "Term ..Deposit", didnt know it meant "Condition", 3% is just too good to be true, i just renewed my fd for 2.2%/6mth at cimb yesterday (and it was 2.5% last month)
*
A term deposit is a fixed-term investment that includes the deposit of money into an account at a financial institution.

The condition is that you need to have a CASA for the interest to be credited into (this is quite normal for promotions). Perhaps you should inquire whether you can open a savings account and be eligible for it, I am pretty it is possible.

Collected your last week cert?
This means for this FD you did not place 3%..?

renewed my FD and placed new FD with promo rate all proceed smoothly
---> when you renewed with 3% promo rate, did you need to top-up RM 10000.00?
*
I placed an FD last week before the campaign started.

Although I brought in a cashier order >RM10k for new placement, I managed to renew my existing FD at promo rate on a separate cert.
So my impression is that can renew at promo rate because usually top-up means have to be in the same cert.

I see. So this means no need to top up existing FD.  thumbup.gif
Thanks for your rocket speed reply..  thumbsup.gif

So far, Bank Rakyat is No 1 now for this 3.00% for 11 months
But, new customer cannot place this 3.00% FD..  confused.gif
*
My hunch, I believe new customers can open CASA to be eligible for the promo rate. Unless BR purposely set this condition to prevent lengthy processing time to open new accounts at the counter during this RMCO period

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Jun 16 2020, 01:08 PM)
Did you ask if next month another OPR cut, will they refine the campaign rate?
*
FAQ no 5 posted at previous page state if OPR changes, the bank has the discretion to revise. Placement before the revision is not affected.
