Personally, Ford ranger middle spec should do the trick.

But dont go for raptor.

Raptor tu truck racing high end, not meant for angkat2 berat max sangat.

My 2 cent chill yo.

but i found raptor is good for daily drive (other than size), especially those performance ...

Those feature not many trucks have it..

Whatever the other trucks have, the ford ranger also have.. that's the difference here.

The ford 2.0L engine but producing more HP than other car brands despite them having much bigger capacity..

You know what that means too? Ford has much cheaper road tax..
*
no point to buy raptor because it really is not fit for any purpose.

1. suspension not durable for off road or heavy load capacity
2. 2.0 engine is gutless and lacks torque compare to wildtrak 3.2
3. slowpoke at fuck, 0-100 need 10.X seconds lose to myvi.

We've operated several trucks over the last 4 years.

2018 Nissan Navara 2.5VL
2018 Isuzu Dmax 2.5l
2017 Toyota Hilux 2.8G
2017 Ford Ranger 2.2l XLT
2017 Mitsubishi Triton VGT Adventure.

Used it to carry a crew of 4 (inclusive of driver) and around 500kg of equipment as well as supplies.

All were kept for 3 years or did 100,000km

Most unreliable and difficult to maintain? The Ford. Intercooler hose blew twice on it. Parts are expensive and getting a slot to service is even more difficult than trying to get a meeting with the PM.

Most durable? The D-Max and Hilux. Nothing was replaced on either other than the brakes and tires.

Best performance when empty? The Nissan.

Best performance when loaded? The Triton.

Best handling? Most car like is the Triton.

Cheapest to own? The Triton.... taken into consideration the cost to buy, the discounts, the cost to maintain and finally the resale value.

Most expensive to own? The Ranger followed very closely by the Hilux (doesn't take into account the road tax)

Now the factory only operates the Hilux 2.4G variant because we get a fleet discount.

Hilux coz banned in USA. Must be something bad in it.
*
The Hilux being banned in America has nothing to do with it being a bad vehicle. It wasn't imported in due to a 25% import duty on light trucks called the Chicken Tax law.

Because the market for pickups in America is HUGE Toyota decided to build a model specifically for it to cater for that market where demands on a truck is different from the rest of the world.

Can remap or piggyback give extra juice, the suspension is durable for onroad and offroad but not heavy load. Of shock leak or snap sure gonna spent up to 14k for whole system. But they can rebuild shock now, so might be less. I am waiting for hilux GR with v6 diesel..

Get the Hilux, cheaper maintenance, cheap spares, far better tech in the hilux too.

Thanks to Marvinben advises.

I'm lacked knowledge in 4WD tech , may i know what is the main different for below Hilux two models?

Hilux DOUBLE CAB 2.4G (AT) 4X4
Hilux DOUBLE CAB 2.4 L-EDITION (AT) 4X4

What is the main disadvantage compare Hilux (above models) and Isuzu D-MAX 1.9L ?

# Rear passenger seat comfortable wise ?
Some time need take passenger from Johor to KL.

Thanks.

Australia site already told there will be hilux gr sport with v6 diesel engine that adopted from new land cruiser 300 series.. hilux gr at Africa got petrol v6 but demand are high for petrol engine over there. Here due to roadtax ofcoz cannot, ranger raptor if fitted with 2.3 ecoboost from Mustang also will be cool. Current new facelift engine will be tune but not much..

Brother u judge urself.
How much time(in minutes) you going to spend on highways vs road vs offroad?

If u are slighty high more on highways or road, better buy ford ranger. So comfy, handling like a car, suspension not bumpy.

But if u are just gonna trash it in offroad, better is hilux, d-max,triton. Tritom offroad capabilities is good, huge rear differential for hill descent, but the cabin size is smalller than hilux.

Can check at Toyota Malaysia for the difference but mainly it's just accessories. Get the L if your finance allows, it's a little bit nicer looking.

I urge you to test drive both hilux and the dmax back to back, dmax really require a lot of energy to drive, Dmax drives like a lorry. The steering is a lot slower than Hilux, engine response is lethargic (even on the 3.0 model), and interior not as refined. Body roll also really bad. The hilux handling is really sharp compared to other trucks. (come with downside, many overconfident and hilux turn turtle, it's a pickup not sport sedan)

Comfort wise Dmax is a bit better since the spring is softer.

After sales service no need say. Toyota is the best. Proper waiting lounge and got food some more. Service interval is 5,000km but the cost quite cheap.

I drive 2 older hilux, 1 unit is 12 years old first gen Vigo, mileage nearing half million KM. another is 3.0 vnt. Both reliable.
