iinm according to iron chef japan's win-loss records chen kenichi is 2nd only to hiroyuki sakai, so he can't be the worst...

iinm many professional chefs dislike Jamie oliver bcos he's basically the prototype hipster chef and that he is largely self-taught and never studied under the many famous euro chefs like robuchon/ducasse/boulud/roux/etc. or worked in those famous restaurants like el bulli etc...

and his book sales are high was bcos every tv show featuring him will have an accompanying book (yes, there was a naked chef recipe book way back in the 1990s).

while ramsay only started doing this around the '00s, bcos he was more busy doing other tv shows and also handling his various Michelin-starred restaurants.

But i guess jamie oliver is a better businessmen? People are scared with michelin star chefs because their cooking are complex, requires alot of technique, and does not resonate well with majority of the common people like you and me.

That's why you see Ramsay's cookbook recently are more simpler, his cooking show shows easier to replicate recipes. But jamie saw that first, and take advantage of it, and now profiting from that.
