A strategic multiplayer digital card game with over 400 cards and countless combinations! Available on Google Play and the App Store

Also recently made available on Steam for PC:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/453480/

Reddit thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadowverse/

Didn't get to see a topic on this yet, if any has been made. Anyway for you guys who enjoys playing CCG ala Hearthstone (HS) & Magic the Gathering (MTG), you guys can try this game out. It is similar to HS and also is made by Japan's very on Pro MTG team. The game released outside of Japan was pretty recently, although the main market comprises of mainly Japanese (due to Cygames is a Japanese Company and has a few franchise games there as well), but usually it's not difficult to find a match either way - you see people from around the world as it is only 1 server connecting everyone everywhere. As for a complete newbie, if you join to date (as in NOW) - after completing the tutorial you will be getting around 3X-4X packs after tutorial completion alone, and 1 pack consist of 8 cards (common, rare, epic and legendary - although the game system is bronze, silver, gold and legendary), so it is not too difficult to get packs as a complete newbie, although it will eventually slow down because newbie benefits don't last long. Anyhow, there are instances you get around 3 to 8 packs for free occasionally due to the generosity of cygames (e.g most recently Japan pro MTG team won the MTG tournament, they gave out a total of 13 packs). Last but not the least, a new expansion is releasing by this week so it is foreseeable that new packs will be given out soon as well. Art style is anime style and you can change the Voice to Japanese as well - you need to search it up on how to do so.

Also, do read on re-rolling guides just in case if you do not like your cards from your newbie package (re-rolling means resetting account) and you can find it on the reddit thread.

There is arena mode too as well (building a deck out of random cards) so you can play that if you like arena mode and not constructed.

Famous HS players e.g. Hafu, Reynad, Kripp and Eloise is playing the game as well (although due to the recent release of MSG of HS, i guess they went back to HS full time mostly on stream).

Ranking system:
Beginner
D
C
B
A
AA
Master

Each rank goes from 0 to 3 (E.g. D0, D1, D2, D3 into C0, C1, C2, C3 etc) and you do not lose rank at the end of the month, only the numbers behind only if you lose too much and NOT due to monthly reset, so if you do not wish to fight any good decks meaning the decks are somewhat incomplete but usually the players are lacking of skill but it is close to a competitive deck (40 cards in a deck), it is advised to stay below C rank.

Good luck and enjoy.

all card games ranking up is a grind, its grindier in HS actually since it resets the ranking every end of the month

i just reached A2 but fell off back to A1 just because i always start first usually after that and all the games i play is vs elena heavan or just heavan in general vs my banner sword just helpless if my draw is bad or their draw can hold off my aggro, lul

i don't only play banner sword in the game but i would say that banner sword was easier to climb the ladder until at least A0, after that it became haven / banner / control blood for me, and control blood seems to be dealing with most decks at A1 to A2 i think, especially those elena haven

storm heavan is quite good currently as well, but as with most aggro decks if the opponent has heal and it has elena in it, it loses badly to it as well

i play all decks (due to dailies) but my most incomplete deck would be forest and rune, next would be shadow (i did try to buff it slightly by crafting due to dailies though), but since it's terrible currently so meh....other decks are working but still missing a few key cards

most of them duplicates, managed to get 3x of the rune spellboost legendary minion, lul, 2 x bahamut, others forgot

the above you will need the non-lowyatians, because no one seem to be playing this much here, haha

i suggest visit the reddit site and add random ppl there if you want to do it, as for me, i am not doing it - you will need to add 20 different ppl to play with (and those ppl will use suicide blood mostly to get it done quickest)

So how is you guys progress so far?

My current best decks would be:
Daria Rune, Control blood, banner sword (updated), storm haven

Worst decks:
Forest and shadow

Mid tier:
Ramp storm Dragon

anyway, as a rank A2 player currently, without an almost complete deck, it makes the game lop sided as in the subtitute for key cards such as ancient elf or will of the forest makes it really hard to play against others, and so those are the main reason why it is the worst decks for me, and although shadow is slightly better in RoB, i find it that it is still weak in comparison to storm based decks as control shadow is still too slow in a way and weak towards haven as well.

Best win rates would be daria (when hand is almost perfect) and storm haven i would say as those decks are almost complete on my side

i only play during dailies though as ranking up is kinda rewardless unlike hs whereby you can still gain some gold after X wins, but anyway in A0-A3, peerhaps AA till masters it will usually be vs daria, aggro blood and miracle roach decks

your best counter is to either play one of those 3 decks or have an aggro based theme deck yourself or if you use control base decks you need to have the vials to create an optimized deck

shadow nepth however, if quite inconsistent i heard and around 45-49% win rate

i fully f2p

struggling with forest and shadow but otherwise, my daria rune and control blood seems to be the best choice to play in A2 meta...both decks really draw dependent and daria rune especially, either you have it and it does nothing or an auto win when it does

as for take2:
first, it is on the choice of class, some say sword is the best second could be blood, worst may be forest or rune, no idea

second, it is on the choice of cards given, legendaries like odin / bahamut and olivia increases your win rates usually

third, it depends on your opponent decks

fourth depends on your skills and your opponent skills

i had my first 5 wins albeit only playing like 4-5matches, worst was 2 wins i think, got it from a kinda crazy sword deck

i just reached my 12k ranked points monthly reward...around less thank 1k pts to reach A3, sometimes just can't break past the 300 pts mark due to bad draws/matchups, lul...and also due to the fact that i play accordingly to daily rewards, sometimes need to run weaker classes, lol

ok, just broke through A3, 1st pic 2 pts remaining, lul

personally i'm not grinding either, just doing dailies while ranking up (hopefully) with self made decks

my sword deck amused me by getting 3 streaks, wasn't expected it to win in streaks as i don't have albert in it, lol

well, daria is effective only probably till A3 rank and at AA, most people are playing effective counters and knows how to play well against it thus the win rate is lower

however, it is still largely dependent on your draws mostly and your opponents hand secondly so the win % is still slightly higher in a way, most effective vs daria should be haven and dragon i think

haven is shadowcraft's kryptonite / main weakness, as that class has the most banish type of effects and can negate those death rattles so its an easy matchup if played right

ptp was popular and was the top tier deck as it doesn't has any solid counters because amulet removal and top tier aggro decks like daria and blood doesn't exist, so if you try to semi flood a board usually forestcraft can easily remove them / heal up and play ptp

now it should not be that bad due to bahamut and more solid early and late game options vs ptp

roach is that you need to anticipate one and drop a solid wall, at least enough to soak 2 damage from spells, best would be that 3/7 ward minion and usually forest will surrender

if your ward is not that good, you will need to have minimum 2 on the board

to vs daria, usually you rush face or establish board presence with higher quality minions, if you trade with them, you will only win if they don't get daria

higher quality minions usually requires a hard removal spell like dance of death to remove from board and not with piercing rune

just hit aa0 from doing dailies only (quest oriented), anyway, there is free additional 7 packs (from the free of nearly 40 packs on top of it) currently to anyone who is interested to join in the game, and if you have not claimed your 7 packs also can be done now

forest is my least played class due to missing 3x ancient elf, but anyway, since i can't seem to find one i crafted one finally today, lul

may craft another one if daria gets nerfed due to the community but who knows, the most "reasonable" nerf if it is to daria would be adding just one additional cost from 9 to 10 mana if there is any nerf to it imo, other than that, it's pretty fine i think

people lose to daria is because they can't make decks good enough to win against it usually cause daria is hogging the lower ranks and most of the people have limited cards during then

if you guys didn't noticed, there is a new patch that provides 3 x 3 new quests and also new elite AI to fight x 7 total of 1400gold to be won

the elite2 AI uses almost meta decks though, so certain classes may be better vs certain classes eg haven vs necro

anyway have fun playing the story mode, haha

honestly dragoncraft isn't in a bad state actually

if you play the neutral shaha, luci & baha drag it's one of the best decks out there, albeit a little expensive if you didn't get the cards

i find myself losing against those decks quite often actually, lol, t7 free lucifer is too strong

usually most of my decks are creature agrro / mid aggro range

sword: self made tempo banner sword - previously i don't have any alberts at all, using goblin mage to pull 2 drops, now it mixes in 1 drops, and also angelic barrage to kill aggro for tempo and more face damage, also i use the 5 drop avant blader and also admiral for more tempo plays, now i crafted 1 albert to sub for the avant blader (would swap both but sometimes the pull is nice to punch through wards)

shadow: aggro shadow with 3 cerb, frankly it's kinda self made also, i teched in the 2 drop that deals 1 damage upon evolve first before it became meta but yea, i don't play much shadow above A ranking nowadays since it's kinda weak to daria especially

dragon: storm drag with baha, some days it works fine, some days it's kinda bad, but it still win games

blood: bloody mary succubus erinyes deck, self made as well, really weak to aggro but can win vs decks like guardian sun satan usually

forest: tempo roach self made, not top tier but kinda okish to win a few games, due to lack of ancient elves

rune: daria self made nuff said

haven: storm haven self made

most of the decks i would say, if not all are self made, i don't net deck as in purposely go into a site and view how decks are build, at most get some info vs other players and cards that were used and think that if it is better than X card used in my deck. of course, sometimes certain legendaries i don't have them and have to craft / sub with other cards that lower down the deck consistency

i rarely play win condition cards like seraph / satan / etc

with the next expansion coming, dragon is having a slightly easier time vs shadow i would say, other than that personally i have no idea what is good so far as i paid very little time to analyze the cards, usually i will only look into it after pack openings, i don't get worked up on "hey X card looks awesome, i must have it in my deck upon release", instead i have X card now, will it work in my deck? unless of course if i find that X card is affordable in my deck and i lost to it too much in multiplayer i may craft it, usually that would take like maybe about 1 month or so of play

to fight albertcraft, the main thing about it is that you need wards early game or heals mid game, and if you are healing you need to have tempo heals like hatching amulets for creatures to trade, otherwise, most likely you will lost from turn 6 to 9

if not you need to drop creatures with storm / effects to kill off other creatures and pray that you could survive till you find a ward creature, trading a creature on the next turn is usually too late to survive

it is best to have at least 5 to 7 hp left by turn 6 at minimum and a ward creature like goblinmount that doesn't get removed by DoD otherwise usually gg

ding dong is kinda useless unless if you play heal / seraph type decks cause it doesn't kill the creatures on the board upon a "trade", if you evolve it you wasted an evolve on it

unica is one of the best anti aggro cards for now, although it dies the next turn usually but that kills their unit too as well

so how you guys playing the game so far?

in a way, i still find my shadow kinda lacking, lul, prolly too midrange although i gear it up for aggro, just that dragon ramp too quick with heals makes it seem so hard to beat, mostly i think otk decks can win neutral legend drag decks now

other than that, seems like the game didn't change much yet i think except drag got notably even stronger, daria got weaker but replaced with dirt golem rune
