Ask you know we its year end and it would be nice if we can compile shops that have a sale for the benefit of all. To get it started

1.Bentley Bukit Bintang

They have ok discounts now. Some 15-20 percent on guitar strings. 20% on selected pedals and 15-20% on some acoustic, electric and amps. Nothing too deep or to shout about.

Ck music does give good discounts. Their house brand guitars seem very good value but quality wise...be extra careful. I bought one before, highest in the range. They brought out their stock (instead of giving me their display guitar) and not a single one of their brand new stock had no defects. So no choice they sold me their display guitar which i believe was touched up.

Bentley is infamous for not genuine sale. if u see 20%-30% off the price tag, it is a display unit for sale. also looking into that, it is still expensive.

nowadays i don't walk into bentley anymore.

Yeah it seems like with the loss of Fender they haven't learn their lesson. Get a more competitive pricing!

Ibanez, PRS are not as popular as they once had, and Marshalls, might as well get Ceriatones for half the money.

I still like how big the Damansara store is, (compared to Swee Lee which are all tiny) but now all those are just wasted spaces with nothing much to show.

they actually did, i think was last year or something they went 70% off for a fender, you could get some very good deals. Even mesa they were letting it go for 30% off one point in time.

Hmm.. 70% off for which Fender? I would assume only unsalable wacko models or poor condition.

But yeah, poor RM and also poor interest in the local market doesn't help.

I miss having Line6 at a year end sale. !@#$ Yamaha (Malaysia) !!

the fenders i saw at bentley with mega discounts were the china ones.
yea china fenders, not squiers.
including some of the weird china fender basses....i posted pics few months ago of them...or maybe i didnt...but not worth looking at.

the blacktops then at 35% were pretty good deals too...cheaper than what ppl sell them used for.

not too sure, but i rmb quite a good range cause i almost got an AVRI 52

i guess bents also dug themselves into a hole la, they dont have a good rep with the local music community its a wonder how they can survive

on another note

i got back from TGS, Dean is on quite a good deal now, all on 40% off, so some guitars 2.5k get 40% not too bad a price

The ENGL Fireball is going at 30% off, just a hair below 4k

Blackstar amp very good deal in CK Music.

tried there the 40w blackstar ID:CORE head for RM534 only. that one sweet decent sound for clean and high gain.

but i bought the Blackstar Fly3 pack practice amp. 6w way louder for bedroom when put it max vol and gain.

very impress with Blackstar now.

Where to get cheap piano, be it acoustic or electronic.

For electric pianos, try CK Music Year End Sale (Korg) or the Malaysia/Singapore Yamaha warehouse/clearance sales. CK Music sale prices not as good as in previous years though.

Which outlet did you visit bro? I dropped by the Damansara Perdana store but haven't seen anything particularly exciting for Dean or Engl. Are the prices just the same as what's published on the website?

ya, TGS sale is only at their cheras HQ.
i called them up to ask last week already.

their website also is seriously out-dated...
quite alot of models in store isnt on their online site...nor any sales listed there.
best to call and ask for prices.

though swee lee in malaysia is small, their prices are more competitive than bentley. i visited swee lee and was eyeing on their fender telecaster mexican made which is RM2.9K with Fender gig bag.

bentley is selling for RM3.7K indon made and with their year end sale, it is going for RM3K. who will even buy an indon fender when they can get a mexican made?

unfortunately, when most music stores having their year end sale, swee lee will not be having any sale because the sales person said that their price is already low and without markup.

Checked out all the other stores (Bentley, CK Music, JS Music etc.) and was at Davis, SVguitars etc. (Peninsula) last weekend... the grass was greener, as always.
