Can anyone recommend me a good cheap router to replace my aging DIR-615 that can only get this kind of speed on wifi, via LAN I can easily get 32Mbps and 10Mbps.

Alternatively you need only buy wireless access point N rated and plug it into one of the LAN ports of your existing router. Disable the wireless on your router and use the new N rated one. It's cheaper this way, u can get less than RM100

Thank you for the suggestion. How do you disable the wireless on dir-615? Btw, let's say I terminate and resubscribe, will they provide me with a new router like DIR-850L?
*
I'm sure it's quite straightforward to disable the wireless.
And yes, they'll provide you a new router if you resubscribe.

I also get 28Mbps d/l and 11Mbps u/l bro. You're not alone.
Good luck bro. I upgrade now in order to experience the 100Mbps. My journey starts from 1Mbps to 5Mbps to 30Mbps to 50Mbps then finally going to reach 100Mbps.  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

My journey started back from TMNET dialup 56k laugh.gif
Now if the upgrade is true, it's gonna be 100mbps rclxms.gif

I've got some info from a close in TM. Around 2.1 million Unifi/Streamyx customers have been selected for the free upgrade. 'Thankyousurprise' will start mid January.

500Mbps  drool.gif  drool.gif

For now 30Mbps is all I can afford monthly  sweat.gif
I can see use for speed above 100Mbps if streaming 4k becomes the norm where one home may have few people streaming 4k content.

Hopefully those 3 digit packages will be affordable by the time that happens.
*
For now, 4K streaming is possible thru Netflix and KODI (limited contents).
Recommended speed for 4K streaming is 25mbps, thus 30mbps is more than enough for one tv.

50mbps though capable for two concurrent tvs.

100mbps= 4tvs cool2.gif

However if the file is like 20-30GB per movie, it will take some time to buffer though. sweat.gif

true, 4K streaming from Kodi is not reliable just yet!

Same thing as mentioned by kebeckham7 after asking through TM LiveChat.

Not sure if I am going to opt for hypptv package.....
*
If I were on 100mbps package, I will terminate then reapply for 50mbps. That'll make more sense, right?

Still on contract, how?

I might weigh on between the amount of money lose upon termination and the long term profit if I reapply 50 mbps (RM229) but later become 100mbps. That's RM70 per month of gaining. In one year that's RM840!

You'll lose a bit now, but long term it's a big gain !

Otherwise you'll probably will suffer psychological (or even mental) damage when you realized others are paying only RM229 for 100mbps while you're paying more!

Just got replied from TM LIVE CHAT:

....but for 50mb it depend on technical test too..
*
Technical test? Meaning whether our current router can handle 100mbps?
Mine now is Dlink DIR 850L, I thought it can handle 100mbps. Any other router used for 50mbps?
