If done smartly can be pretty. My router is placed on the second floor, but I've got other TV & android box one floor below. I drilled the wall so that the network cable goes to the outside wall of my house then properly enclosed in cable case. The cable goes towards the wall below where it's drilled again exactly to my tv spot. So nothing bad visible inside the house.
