[quote=vez,Jan 14 2017, 07:34 PM]Asus expensive i just bought one Asus RT-68U AC1900, which is old model launch 2 years ago i believe, still selling RM1039 RRP, i get from Lazada after apply rebate from cc become RM840 previously i use Asus RT-56U 3 years ago, feel Asus is good and reliable just that my double stoery terrace upstairs toilet and masterbedroom signal poor, but after replace with RT-68U, ok already Asus RT-68U AC1900 can it support up to future 200-500mbps? QUOTE(zher4883 @ Jan 14 2017, 07:22 PM) Any router with AC1750 or AC1900 speed rating is good enough. Speed rating higher than these barely make a difference. What router u are using?

QUOTE(zher4883 @ Jan 14 2017, 07:47 PM) Since I'm merely using 30Mbps connection, I'm using TP-Link TL-WR1043ND. This router definitely not good enough for 200-500Mbps. I don't really rely on Wi-Fi connection but rather ethernet connetion so it's not a problem for me using single band router. What router u recommend for future 200-500Mbps speed.

QUOTE(calvinlaw510 @ Jan 14 2017, 07:56 PM) I am using TP-Link Archer C2600 almost a year now, so far so good, no hang, no disconnection, on 24/7. Tested with time 300Mbps on my friend's apartment, easily to get 300Mbps with 5Ghz band. How many mbps connection is ur Unifi? Is this wifi router really good?

QUOTE(westlife @ Jan 14 2017, 10:00 PM) Even the 100Mbps get free speed upgrade to 200Mbps or 500Mbps. The rm329 price tag may still be too expensive to most. And most may not be able to tap on the full bandwidth of such speed for most of the daily tasks they do, unless they are super heavy downloaded. Can you fully utilize 500mbps for home users daily? Think if are download freak for more than 100gb a day than is worth it.

QUOTE(Icehart @ Jan 15 2017, 02:14 AM) 100GB no need 500Mbps, 50Mbps also more than enough. Theoretically, 50Mbps connection can download 21GB/hour. I am wondering home users with 500Mbps what do they do? Ppl say 500Mbps is never overkilled but can u fully utilized it. Im using 30Mbps also cannot fully utilized it everday. Unifi have to make the price for future 200-500Mbps cheap if they want ppl to subscribe it.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Jan 17 2017, 11:44 AM) Perhaps so. I don't know whether I should be happy or sad. Happy because my Unifi will get free speed upgrade and some freebies. Sad because my Streamyx doesn't get anything other than pointless freebies. What freebies u are getting for Unifi?

QUOTE(westlife @ Jan 18 2017, 08:36 AM) TM live chat now replies to thank you surprise campaign already. Will be getting free upgrade to 50Mbps . Was hoping tm could offer me better discount since contract is expiring this month. Don't know which thank you surprise option 1 to 3 to choose from. Looks like 50Mbps will be enough for home users for next 3 years.

QUOTE(westlife @ Jan 18 2017, 09:32 AM) what is ur current plan? Advance 30 or VIP20? for this two it should no special options except to upgrade to 50Mbps gua... the guy was asking for Advance Pro (100Mbps plan). but the free offer is bad for the existing users of this plan. only rm10 discount? never receive any email or sms yet. i registered for advance 30 only in dec 2016. maybe my upgrade won't be that fast. I am on Advance 30Mbps plan.No freebies for this upgrade? But having upgrade to 50Mbps gonna be good for me another 3 years. This post has been edited by christina1: Jan 18 2017, 10:09 AM

QUOTE(westlife @ Jan 18 2017, 01:40 PM) actually to me, it is a bonus, so i am not in hurry also. to be frank, now my download is still limited. so upgrade is not crucial. maybe the upload to 20Mbps speed will be more useful to me, since sometimes i upload video to my facebook. with double speed from now, i should be able to finish the upload by cutting the time by half upgrade to 50Mbps and upload speed to 20Mbps still not freebies? Thought they are giving jumbo ,ruby or aneka pack for 1 year? This post has been edited by christina1: Jan 18 2017, 04:51 PM
