Exactly. This marketing company which already contains information on how much spending the top earner did, just needs to have their insiders spend much less than the top earner did for 1st month as the 'big guns' have already been 'disqualified' and they don't need to match it. Usually the big S-pay spenders are the more up-to-date guys.

if they tally the results on 1st May, it doesn't matter if they join 2nd month or 3rd month, their spending on month 2 & 3 will still be considered for top 1 & top 100 for each respective month. e.g. person A spent 0,500,10000 and person B spent 10000,10000,10000 - person A will still win on month 3 and person B month 1.
if they tally the results so early like they actually did, there is a lot of room for dishonest activity. month 1 top spender = 10k next 100 all above 2k. month 2, top spender only needs to be around 2.5k for example.
it doesn't make sense to encourage cardmembers like person B to STOP SPENDING.
no matter what, the rules and T&C are always in favor of company organizing contents. just stating the possibility of them being very dishonest and this sucks.
