Hi...why did all myNEWS shops stop accepting Spay?
*
As far as I concern, I can use Samsung Pay at most of mynews store now. If they ask for the card no. it means the terminal is new to that store and they not yet integrate with the PC yet. If there is any problems, you can complain at their FB since I always connect with their Customer Service via FB message.

Recently, I experimented a little with Samsung pay. So, I've been to a shopping mall and they accept VISA cards to enter the parking lot, so I've used Samsung pay instead.

RM30 got deducted upon entry, when I exited the terminal says parking is ~RM2.
It's been 2 days I haven't receive back my change, I am afraid because Samsung pay uses a digital card number instead of our real card number so it doesn't correctly debit into my account?

Anyone else here tried the same?

Usually it takes 3 working days to refund back to your account, even though Samsung Pay using different no. but it already link to your bank account.

KFC still in the process on upgrading their terminal.
The old terminal which is the white one from CIMB can’t be used anymore.
The new terminal is black in colour with Maybank logo on it which now accepts Pin and Pay together with contactless payment.

As per conversation with the terminal provider, they will deploy the new terminal in phases nationwide.

As per conversation with BNM, the merchants are not allowed to impose any minimum amount. If the merchant set some minimum amount your can lodge complaint directly to BNM Facebook account with details as below πŸ‘‡πŸΌ

Hi,  relatively new samsung pay user.  I was thinking of compiling a list of stores that are samsung pay Friendly.
Of course this list may be huge as certain stores have difficulty in acceptance of this technology,  depending on the cashier and which branch.  But I'm getting bored with farming Jaya grocer, my news and McDs πŸ˜‚.

Shops that accept Samsung Pay
1. McDonalds - any amount
2. MyNews (Jaya branch) More branches will be added later
3. Guardian - any amount
4. Watsons - any amount
5. AllITHypermarket - RM50 and above
6. MBG Fruits - RM30 and above
7. KFC (Some branches,  unsure which ones)
8. Chapter One - RM50 and above
9. Giant - any amount
10. Tesco - any amount
11. Aeon - any amount
12. Caring Pharmacy - RM10 and above for Pavilion branch

Petrol stations that accept Samsung Pay
1. Caltex
2. Petronas
3. BHP

Shops that do not accept Samsung Pay/Credit cards πŸ™
1. Daiso
2. MrDIY
3. Texas Chicken

If there are specific branches that accept/refuse use of Samsung pay, just post and the list will be updated as needed.
This list reflects shops that I/Other forummers frequent.
Do not forget that there is a list of shops that are stated within the Samsung pay app itself.

I’ve ask MBG since last year on their FB and they said there is no minimum amount using card.

Most of Mr Diy around KL already have the card terminal and no minimum amount required but if using contactless (paywave/MaybankPay/CIMBPay/Samsung Pay) it’s take along time to approve the transaction (more than 1 minutes). If using PIN is way faster.

Its the same. Yes, if above RM 250 you still can use Paywave and enter PIN. If below RM 250 you just need to wave and go.

I found that a few of Guardian outlets now have minimum amount to pay using card (RM 50). It’s very inconvenient for the customer to use cashless method to pay. Hope more customers can make reports to BNM, so that BNM can take action again them.

Can you list the branches which have a minimum amount?
All the Guardians I visited (Around PJ area) have no minimum amount as I pay RM 1 for either water or Candy using Samsung Pay with no hassle.
*
As far as I concerned, Guardian Mid Valley - the customer give the card to the cashier but the cashier ask whether the customer have cash instead.

Guardian Ampang Park - as photo attached

Anyone tried using SPay outside Malaysia? Tried in Singapore with Hong Leong card, didn't go through. They accept contactless payment almost in all retailers, kinda impressive.
*
Tried it with my Maybank card at 7-11 Singapore and approved. Maybe you not activate the oversea usage facility.

Got ah? Well, it does not have to be Alipay.

What NEEDS to happen is some sort of ubiquitous system that that does not required a Samsung or iPhone..

So I can transact with my Xiaomi..  hehe

You can used Maybank Pay for Maybank cards or CIMB Pay for CIMB cards.
