QUOTE(maniac_rage @ Feb 15 2007, 10:36 PM) Just another US political agenda. A bit like Black Hawk Down. It only shows the good side of America. How "innocent" they are. Em, this movie doesnt take sides at all. Neither does it make any political statement. Its just recreated events as it happened. Burga - who initially wasnt all that impressed on the first viewing.

QUOTE(malayneum @ Feb 16 2007, 12:35 PM) its explicitly provoking and sullied the dignity of all arabs. yea, so i assume you take it that any movie villian's ethnicity is an insult to their race? lets see, we have the quintessential commie emotionless Russian, the worker bee Jap, the nerdy asian kid in college, the stuffy Brit, the American Nam soldiers who commit atrocities, the French with their exaggerated accents, the Italian who is always connected to the mob..... Go watch your happy happy joy joy Disney cartoons dude. This post has been edited by BurgaFlippinMan: Feb 16 2007, 04:56 PM

It is a dry statement of fact, congruous with the film. 'Dedicating' it would be pandering sentimentality. Neither one of them is a 'hollywood' dramatic EDIT: Woops my bad there about the end titles. Cant recall the ending except for that exquisite restrained closing shot. This post has been edited by BurgaFlippinMan: Feb 17 2007, 01:46 PM

I admittedly couldnt recall the title cards as I last watched the film months ago. I apologize for that mistake. Nevertheless, the point of discussion was whether 'America's war on terror had begun' was a 'hollywood dramatic'; so I suppose you dont really know what you are talking about either. Btw I'll give u the benefit of doubt, did you mistakenly watch Flight 93? Because from what I've heard, that one is a cliche ridden, rah rah version of the events. Well you are only telling half the story then. The 'release' version is the one the public got to see, and the one we are discussing.

Dude, we were talking about Hollywood dramatics. Secondly, title cards are often inserted by the studio and the director may not have any say.
