i think your are still entitled, free upgrade are pretty much non-existance except for the infamous 5mbps -> 10mbps free upgrade recently, while the others who dont get the upgrade on year 2016, will have their on 2017.

30mbps existing user need to register to get free upgrade or no need register, just wait for free upgrade in 2017?
*
register in the sense of acknowledging the upgrade, when the turn came for the user.
which mean we will receive sms/call, so the upgrade is on under our discretion, and yes we can even deny the upgrade, but who it the right mind will do it, unless the upgraded speed are really unstable causing disconnection (physical limit)

weird
have such reason
TIME can handle 500Mbps
SG ISP's fiber can handle until 10Gbps
why ours 50-100Mbps already saying may not be supported? laugh.gif ...what a joke
dnt tell me the fiber TM using is made in zimbabwe
*
because the last mile infra are mostly owned by TM, while in singapore, it was handled by neutral party.
not all unifi package were using GPON fiber-optic cable, alot of them are using vdsl2.0 (copper line) which usually limited to 50mbps or lower (100mbps if really short loop), so in order for us to enjoy higher bandwidth, TM need to adopt G.Fast copper line, which are still not deployed yet in any country. Else, migrating all subscriber line to fiber-optic, which need to involve really high cost.

ah then i guess anywhere with unifi then of course can handle 100mbps whistling.gif doh.gif
*
not really, 100mbps unifi are pretty much unsupported for high-rise, unless GPON last-mile were used. Even for 50mbps, the technician need to do the testing first, if it failed, customer will be registered to unifi30 advance instead.
So because of this, not all unifi30 advance user will be free upgrade to 50mbps, this is due to physical limitation.

looks like when TM is moving to UNIFI, they're not very long sighted at all
invest in cheap tech and material which later will occur even higher cost to upgrade
*
well i dont think TM even projected that normal subscriber even requires 100mbps, but things changes, the neighbor country have surpassed the 1gbps barrier.
If someone noticed, thailand also had similar issue as us, ftth package are limited to 200mbps, but at least they differentiate between vdsl and ftth package, not combining together like what TM does.

However like us, people are preferring to have cheaper package instead of highest speed package, but TM love to do the other way around, by making the cheapest package rm179, you want cheaper, get something like webe.

at least still limited to 200Mbps
ours 50-100 already problematic laugh.gif
never foresee long term is always TM's fault
*
thats why no matters what ISP we have, dont take the most expensive plan,always take the most worth for money plan, for TM, we have unifi 30 advance, for time we have 100mbps time fiber, for maxis, we have maxis one home 30mbps lite.

i heard they are attempting to migrate streamyx user that not managed to upgrade to 2/4/8mbps plan to migrate to webe,
but coverage how biggrin.gif

so it will may likely be the same a unifi, 1mbps -> 2mbps, 2mbps -> 4mbps, 4mbps -> 8mbps, while 8mbps package will left to the dust, unless they have unifi, tm could just migrate them to 30mbps plan at the same price.

May I know where did you get the info that Unifi 10mb will get free upgrade to 30mb?

I only saw 30mb to 50mb & 50mb to 100mb~

here.

so far we only know that unifi advance 30 will have speed upgrade to 50mbps, while advance 50 will have speed upgrade to 100mbps.

we could only speculate that the other streamyx/unifi package will be upgrade as per below:
streamyx:
384kbps -> 512kbps
512kbps -> 1mbit
1mbit -> 2mbit (or webe if the infra doesnt allow)
2 mbps -> 4mbps (or webe if the infra doesnt allow)
4mbps -> 8mbps
8mbps -> no upgrade (unless unifi are supported, maybe unifi 30 advance plan)

unifi:
5mbps (vip5) -> 10mbps (vip10)
10mbps(vip10) -> 30mbps (unifi30 advanced)

Will 4Mbps user have to chances to upgrade any of the unifi package ? I am concerned bout upload speed. Because 4mbps user stuck 0.5mbps for upload.

My place recently covered by TIME Fibre recently. But if I change to TIME Fibre, I would have pay roughly 720MYR extra a year. Since my package is only paying 93.xMYR 4Mbps
*
if your area are supporting unifi, why are you stay with streamyx (unless cost is a big concern), TM not gonna upgrade the legacy infra anyway.
if only TM allow 5/10mbps unifi registation with price reduction, it will be no brainer to use unifi instead of comparable streamyx plan.

they mention unifi 5, 10, 30 & 50 registered before 31 Dec 2016 eligible for upgrade
but only mention upgrade plan for 30 & 50
what about 5 & 10?
*
firstly, the page that ts post were for new registration, the only unifi plan that available for registration currently are only advance30 and advance50.
TM only mentioned that the plans that were eliglible will be upgraded to one-step upgrade, which mean, vip5->vip10, vip10->advance30, advance30->advance50, advance50 -> pro 100.

How about us that stuck with streamyx and no unifi coverage?hausiao
*
its quite controversial with the budget2017 as TM not going to reduce the pricing, but instead give upgrade to the current customer.
If they reduce the pricing, 8mbps streamyx will have cheaper price@rm140 or pro100 unifi @rm229 and we wouldnt mind if they didnt give upgrade due to price reduction.

if your area is covered by TIME
what are u still thinking?
just go for it
their package is way cheaper than UNIFI

agreed, demand more upload speed, but choose streamyx doh.gif
its not TM fault, its the limitation of ADSL technology

I'm on a high rise condo, and on VIP20

TM promised 50mbps "free" upgrade, but need to topup.

Suddenly i remembered /K/ says no way high rise can hit even 50mbps

Then i challanged TM, lastly they admit it will be max circa 30 only (still need to pay bangsat...)
*
not all la, some high rise house do managed to get 50mbps package, but need to pass the line quality test la biggrin.gif
but anyway, 50mbps users quite rare also, most people will not spend fortune on internet access anyway.

During peak hours right after office hours until midnight the line is crap my area.

I took 50mbps for the 20mbps upload.

Hopefully with the new 100mbps I will also get 50mbps upload.
*
if already crap at peak hour, why do you think higher plan will be better at that situation? unless you using enterprise package, then different story la
