Any VAIO AR - VGN-AR59GU user here? Thinking of getting 1. As suggestion or coments? Except that it's pretty bulky and heavy at 3.9kg lol.

Yeah, it was discontinued therefore the price had become more "affordable" lol. But then the specs are about or on par with my requirement though as in the preliminary stages i intend to get myself hp dv5t but it wasn't released yet in m'sia . There's another selection on my mind though which was toshiba qismo g40(superior compared to sony argu59u in term of it's audio) but in then end i pick sony as it was lighter(toshiba qismo g40 weights a stunning 5.5kg )

So far so good as i hadn't encountered any problems yet .

My window vista crashed and i accidentally deleted my raid volume in the process meaning the recovery partition is gone as well. Worst of all, i have yet to make any recovery disc. Anyway i reinstall the window but could not get to the bundled softwares that were included and sony support website only provided the update of those softwares. Any1 any ideas where i can get the original bundled in softwares? Btw my lappie is sony vaio vgn ar59gu. Any help and guide are greatly appreciated.

Well AR59GU owner here, yeah AR series were discontinued by sony mid of 2008 and replaced by AW series which are a few k cheaper than AR series. But i do believe that quality comes with a price therefore cheaper price from same the same manufacturer for the same product can only produce 2 possibility which are either they cut their production cost or cheaper hardware components were used in the newer models.
