good morning guys.say i have about 4K to spend for a roadbike.i would assume at least a 105 groupo for something around this price.which bike would you guys recommend that has a good frame that will be forgiving on long rides and relatively stiff enough? any idea where else carries the CAAD10(5) and pricing range?

eh...but the carbon carraro manyak berat lor. if you can save 7K you can get a scott CR1team.cr1 comp probably cheaper.the other slightly below 7K would be BH prisma 105

I am looking for advice as I would like to buy a mountain bike at roughly 2000/2500rm. I went to quick sports and they have the Carraro brand with the 419 Grunge (2000rm) and the 420 grunge disc (2500rm).
I am also planning to participate (not compete but just for the fun) in some sprint triathlons and would like to know if it is possible to use a mountain bike for this kind of event???

RM4300 negotiable? It says "Front Mech - Microshift", any sifu can share how Microshift works compare to the usual SRAM and Shimano?

all the bikes around this level are priced competitively at the same level.. i guess the merida you mentioned is the race lite 904 which was also posted by sky.live before.. think was offered at the same price but not sure before or after negotiations.

looks preference and sizing aside... frame geometry depends on the sizing but looks almost simillar across both.. features a tapered heat tube for better front end rigidity but never mentioned on the type of aluminum alloy used on the bikes.

looking at how they spec the race lite 904 and the boardman race comp... it looks like the boardman is made for more of the average rider to ride long and demanding routes... what the europeans call a sportive and we call century rides...  my opinion is based on what looks like very compact gearing of the Apex (mid cage Apex RD, looks like 11-32T cassette) on the boardman vs the merida...and very sturdy and reliable set of high spoke count wheelset laced to mavic cxp22 rims..

the merida is spec'ed more to appeal to customers with more fancy components...

if the equipment is less of importance to you... then you only have to worry about which rides more comfortably for you and the price and looks of it..

as a newbie to the sport... it is a 50/50 thing.. for me personally, the brand doesn't matter and it really depends on who i know as my bike shop.. that plays a big role in future ..

so, if both is of no difference to you... go with who you feel you are more comfortably with as a bike shop... you have to go back and deal with them anyways after you purchase your bike.. whether it is just tuning, repairs or upgrades.

if spec wise.. i would go with boardman no questions asked... i like SRAM more than shimano...
