QUOTE(plkvoon @ Jul 28 2010, 12:56 AM) Dear all sifus here, I am currently looking at this bike, http://www.giant-bicycles.com/zh-tw/bikes/...e.1/7123/43440/Model : Giant Composite 1 (2010). Is it a good buy below RM4k? Good price. You seldom get roadbike with 105 component below 4K. I am interested as well. Which shop? Am thinking of getting a 2nd roadbike as my missus hantam my Merida 905 when riding with me relegating me to my MTB only.

Bro, The boardman roadbike looks good. Am thinking of getting a new roadbike for my use. Anyone of you can PM me where I can get this bike in KL, address, phone no. Grown tired of seeing too many Colnago, Scott, Giant and Treks around.

AM quite tempted to get the Boardman comp as well. Anyway how is Sram Apex compared to Shimano 105? My current ride is a Trek 2.1 with 105 while y missus is using Merida 903 with Tiagra 9 speed.

Butthead bro, not transferring my 105 to her Merida. If I do get that Boardman, will sell off her Merida most probably. I only know Sram Red performance but good to know about the info on Sram apex. If I'm willing to go 2K higher, probably will be better getting the team carbon or Pinarello FP2.

Butthead,
Bro thanks for your insight. AM from Kuching so need help to locate shops addresses and tel nos to contact in KL. Like I said, narrowed down my preference for the Boardman or the Pina, unless can get a Focus as well into the equation, the one posted here, the variado. Not really into competitive cycling, more into endurance and fitness ride on weekends and public holidays, so an alloy frame will do just fine. If its not too much bro, pm me your contact number to ask a few question, thanks.

Kindredd,
I moved up from Tiagra to 105. You can feel the difference man. Hence my next move up should rightly be to Ultegra but not willing to fork out $ for a weekend warrior like me. Just contented and happy with 105 or Sram Apex. BTW your Scott looks nice, bet the geometry is good as well. ALl you need is now is to go to 105 and a decent wheel set, you will fly bro.

Just back from a 51kms ride with missus, in light rain as well. Well a little rain is ok not in a storm definitely. After that washes both bikes coz somebody wanna have a look at them.
If can sell, our potential replacement will probably be a Boardman Team Carbon or comp, a Colnago prima (old model but I like the geometry) or a 2nd hand Trek Madone just ridden twice coz owner not into roadie and prefer masuk hutan dengan musang dia....

Cycling bros, Yesterday my bike shop called me to offer a 2nd hand Trek Madone 3.1 2011 roadie with Ultegra groupset for RM6K. Bike is only ridden twice not even 100kms coz owner traded in for a trek remedy. Is this a good price? If it is, may buy it for my ride and upgrade wheelset (stock bontrager currently) later.
Still looking for another bike for missus, care to lemme know where I can get the Scott S20 in KL? Thanks all.

Haven't bought my bike as I am confused. There are a few good choices out there. With a budget of 4k, there's a British bike (Boardman) vs a German bike (Focus) vs a US bike (Scott). All white colors, specs are nearly the same. But which one? hehehe

QUOTE(malleus @ Jan 29 2012, 12:52 PM) Here's a quick way for you to overcome your confusion. Forget about those 3, and get a Trek instead Bro am currently riding a Trek 1.2 with 105. Loves the geometry but would like to try another brand. Also seriously considering a used Madone 3.1 (less than 100kms in 2 rides only) with Ultegra offered to me at 6K or a Colnago Prima around 4k.

Sky,
Care to name a few of those sexy ones? Bad crash for the Malaysian trainers. Was involved in one in 2010, 7 stitches, 2 cracked ribs a lot of blood, learnt my lesson.

Butthead,
you're probably rite. My next roadie will probably be a full carbon. Either that 3.1 or a 4.9 Madone in white in my actual size. However still would like a good alloy bike for my missus with at least 105.

I don't think the marshals and the police were wrong, that driver was inconsiderate. Report mentioned that she wanna overtake the car in front stopped by the police as the riders are passing, hence mowing down the riders. Accident happen but we can learnt from this by being more careful on the road. Cycling is very popular now in most major cities in M'sia and more and more drivers are aware and accepting the fact that they had to share the roads with cyclists. But then again, you also have irresponsible drivers who felt that they are king of the road as that driver is behaving.

Found out a bit more on EMC bikes from Australia through their website. Specs for the Etape 2.2 is quite good for bike in this price range, 105 groupset, carbon forks, and nice colors, even got ladies version. Can get this locally through TSBike and BBS.
