Im thinking to sell something to Singapore. But i have no idea how to collect payment from Sg'pore buyers

My question is, notworthy.gif
1) Actually Sg'pore buyers bank-in Sing Dollar or they need to convert SG Dollar into Ringgit Malaysia b4 they bank-in into my Malaysia local bank acc. ?? Or i cant use local bank acc for tht kind of transaction?

2) Does it involve some duty charge if i sending item to Sg'pore??

3) Which courier should i use?

Thanks in advance.

1. there is maybank singapore, and u can ask the buyer to use maybank2u singapore to do the transaction with u,but there is charges within,i forgot is what.

2. if the kastam found that the item is suspected an illegal item (eg.Handphone),then the duty will be charged,if u lucky and they lazy to check, then there will be no duty charge,i post a proc to there before, because i put it as small as possible(dont make ur parcel too big and too heavy),then the receiver didnt pay for the duty.but if the kastam found out it is an illegal item and need to charge duty,it's not easy for the buyer to get the item, the buyer will need to apply a what (i forgot) permit in order to get the item, the procedure is very complicated.better be careful,if failed to do so,the item will be consficated by the kastam.

3.U can use pos malaysia to ship the item, the problem is,u trust pos malaysia meh?i willing to pay rm15 more to get a better service like DHL,UPS or bla bla....

good luck to u Yehlai, just be careful of what i told u the 2. thing.

Some wrong information you guys gave here.

1. Maybank Singapore and Maybank Malaysia are DIFFERENT. You CAN'T use Maybank2U online banking for transferring money from Singapore to Malaysia directly.

2. If buyers from Singapore wants to send money to you, they will have to use bank Tele-Transfer, even if it is Maybank Singapore to Maybank Malaysia. Singapore bank will charger buyer around S$22 (around RM50). When you receive the money, your local bank in Malaysia will change the S$ to RM according to their own conversion rate, and they will charge you some fee (cant remember this one) for the TT.

3. You can try PayPal if you want, currency will be in either USD or S$, but you can't withdraw money from PayPal in Malaysia, please take note.

4. You can send via PosLaju, which is very safe. Takes around 3 days to reach Singapore. A bit expensive though.

5. Make sure you dont send illegal item. For normal item, there is a certain value limit before kena tax... wink.gif

I will write an article perhaps on this one at ECMalaysia.com soon smile.gif
