its a normal problem to not be able to play well with a metronome for self thought guitarists like us. the best way in my opinion is to practice and record urself to a click track. its exactly the same as practicing with a metronome, only that u get to hear how u did later on. for me it has helped alot especially when i need to record things down. last time i used to need to take many takes just to record a solo down but now can do it pretty fast(like the lyn virtual jam that didnt take too much of my time).
