QUOTE(Banzai_san @ Feb 12 2007, 11:12 AM)
At the moment Im setting my tempo to 50 beat per sec  blush.gif

Need to nail my timing inconsistency. Really suck when you think you are doing "OK" with simple things such as hammer and pull off. Now I notice that when going to different strings or moving to different frets, my timing tend to get out of beat.  doh.gif  blush.gif

When playing at normal tempo, I didnot notice this. But when playing slow... thats when my poor timing shows.  vmad.gif  sad.gif

Well, need to start slowly.

Edit: correction on above... 50 beat per sec at sixteeth note (semiquaver) beat

My first metronome was some el-cheapo brand... I honestly believed that it was defective because I was always going out of time. whistling.gif

Anyway, I find that mid-tempos are bloody difficult, 16th notes in the 120 to 140 bpm range. I find that right-hand movement must be oh-so-precise and smooth in that range. I find that sometimes I tend to slow down and speed up to compensate... bad, bad... yawn.gif
Try 16th note 5 string sweeps at 130 bpm... can die! sad.gif

...hey, even Malmsteen says: "If it sounds good, it's good!" icon_idea.gif

...and I bet that most of his uber-l33t runs in his solos aren't exactly 100% on-time or accurate... just watch some of his "instructional" (i.e. show-off!) videos, and you'll be able to hear messy notes here and there...

...that being said, he's still Malmsteen... notworthy.gif
