I used to collect comics. Mostly Marvel. But due to the rising cost of comics I had to stop.

Still keep some X-Men and Uncanny X-Men around.

Did Planetary stopped running? I really enjoyed the story about a twisted version of the FF, LOL!

Yeah, good times indeed.

i'm a retired average-joe. but still keep my collection as mint as possible. some collection list:
spawn, spiderman(during the clone saga), batman(knightend saga), creech(the 1st 4 only), some misc issue(like ghost rider, venom and x-men) and a few one shot crossovers. i love to read them again from time to time.

i have to say, reading these kind of comics have better benefit than reading those manggas. at least english comics improved your english biggrin.gif.

If you get the American translated manga's, they will improve your English as well.

QUOTE(shyghost @ Feb 16 2007, 09:09 AM)
Most of us retired from comics because of the rising prices or maybe we've grown out of it. A lot of the comic's specialty shops close down after the comic boom in the late 90's. Nowadays, one simple comic's book cost about RM12 and I'm sure a hardcore reader will not only buy one book.  tongue.gif

Furthermore, the influx of manga books and those HK translated comics worsen the situation for American and English comics to survive.  blush.gif

I still treasure all those comics I bought during that comic boom era. In my humble opinion, story like Onslaught, AoA or Kingdom Come is still the best compared to stories that come out now.  cool2.gif

I've completed my Have and Wish list. It's not that many. I have about 300+ and wish about 50 more to complete my collection.  brows.gif

Thank you every one for your input. Now, if only I knew how to upload those lists here in this forum, I will post it as soon as possible.  whistling.gif

Maybe you can copy and paste your list here?

Long time I didn't post here coz comics were becoming too pricey and storylines were getting way too confusing for me.

BTW, just want to ask, is there a Mind Shop in the Curve or Cineleisure now? I could have sworn I saw people carrying their bags around.

Too many new stuff to keep up. I'm on an Annihilation run. Gotten myself the TPB. Damn I miss comic collecting, but taking into account the waiting and the costs, waiting for the TPB ain't such a bad idea anymore, lol!

Maybe for Annihilation Conquest. I'm a big fan of Warlock! Can't wait to get my hands on it!

Wanted to get the HC for 300! But need to refill bullets first. Salary coming soon, lol. (C.card suspended coz someone cloned my card for the 3rd time...still waiting for replacement coz of holidays...)

My current favorite cover by Gabriele Dell'Otto. Awesome stuff.

Though, the showdown between Thanos and Drax was really lousy...Nothing like the cover suggested... wink.gif

Not many cosmic comic readers from here, lol! It is from Marvel lol!

That's a cover from Annihilation no.4. Marvels other crossover event aside from Civil War. I loved Thanos, so I went to grab all the TP of Annihilation and it's sequel Annihilation Conquest. Great stuff if you loved b-grade characters like Quasar, Adam Warlock, Gamora, Thanos, Silver Surfer, Drax the Destroyer, Super Skrull and others.

If you loved cosmic characters I highly recommend those books.

Hi, just found this thread, been a long time readers of comics and didn't know there was a place discussing them in Malaysia.

One thing I noticed, a few suggestions for people to find books from ebay or the US with high postage. Take a look at this site: www.thebookdepository.com they deliver to Malaysia postage free. I have used them many times and they are great. They lost one order but I emailed them and they just sent the book out again at no extra charge so highly recommended for trades, they carry just about everything available.

Yes conversion shouldn't be an issue as Kino already buy in US$ or pounds and then convert by exchange rate for the RM price.

As an example Kino price for the latest Captain America trade is RM51.15. The Book Depository is $13.99 which converts to RM41.30 as there's 21% off.

The only downside is you need to wait for them to arrive compared to buying in the shop.

Hell, if it means savings, I can wait! laugh.gif

Latest haul from me is the Civil War HC. Arrived (all 500+ pages of it!) on Thursday from BD. (I missed that as I was following the Annihilation arc instead) Took about 2 weeks. Arrived in Mint Condition!

Super awesome! Thanks again to Mr Jones for the link to BD! Highly recommended site.

Looking to get more TPB and HC stuff there. Woohoo!
