Hello guys,

I want to buy one more extra external HDD recently, looking for 4TB.

I did some research and found WD MyBook 4TB and Passport 4TB but the price different is quite a lot. Look around at Lazada found the MyBook is fetching RM6xx but Passport only around RM4xx.

So is there any difference between these two models? I only know MyBook need power adapter and Passport doesn’t.

My usage only copy data into it and keep, not going to plugging in all the time.

So could advice me which is better buy?

Thanks. smile.gif

usually it is better to buy enclousure + 2.5 HDD than buying those.

they need cut the HDD pricing, SSD is like only 4X pricier. I already regret buying a 2TB Hdd recently. I should have remove all my HDD from my old computer make all of them for cold storage offline archiving, while using SSD to be OS/app drive.

Anyone use before https://www.seagate.com/as/en/internal-hard-drives/rescue/ ?
Saw some selling at lazad , which hard disk will it support ? can it extend the data recovery ?
Simple how it works , lets say I bought a hard disk a yer ago , buy this plan apply the serial number for the old harddisk then anything happen can get recover ?

only Iron wolf series.

If you are afraid of your data is loss due to HDD failure, buy another HDD as hard backup. Either run as raid 1 or just mirror copy it. 2 HDDs is much safer than trying to buy Data recovery insurance.
