One time, I was at Jalan Ampang. Surge is 1.8x. Uber ping. The rider is 4 minutes away. Ok, let's go. Pick up rider. Since my phone is quite slow, it took awhile for my maps to show the direction. So, I went quite far (to the Jalan Ampang / Jalan Tun Razak intersection), then realize I was going the wrong. But I was surprised....the destinatation was 200 meters away from the pick up location.

I though rider put wrong destination ( I mean..no one is this daft, right?).

NOPE! It was the correct destination. Rider did not realize the destination was only 200 meters away. In fact, you could see it from the pick up location. (HOLY ShIT)

In the end, I got about RM 4.00 (because of the surge...lol)

Rider's 1st instinct was to use Uber app but not check first in the maps. Wow...

As a rider going for short trip (fare below rm5), always use Grab. Please. Stop cheating on Uber driver. Really. This is serious.

At least on Grab:
1. driver know the fare and destination. driver accept means he want and don't mind short trip.
2. Grab bonus workable for both incentive and fare hunter drivers.

Guys, as a rider I am banned. I wrote in to support to find out why, they are trained not to share ban reason. I had to appeal, to which I did. No response after 1 week.

I am guessing the ban was due to my 3 cancellations in 3 days.

1 -  Driver doesn't know my pick up location and GPS is broken. I cancelled and didn't complain.

2 - Driver car broke down. I had to cancel and wrote in to find out the whether he's lying or telling the truth.

3 - My pickup point is far, driver requested me to cancel. I did snd wrote in.

Few hours later, bam! Banned.

Anyone knows how to deal with this? Rather than register a new account with new number, I would love to keep my current account.

This is Grab or Uber?

you mean rating? His rating was 4.7.
Kept all the screen capture of his phone number, car, plate, photo, etc.
Tried calling him to find out what really happen but he end my call after few rings, not once but 5x!
Send him a message but never bothered to respond...
Tempted to reveal his details so that anyone assigned this driver may cancel immediately & not waste time waiting...

If you got all the details, just report to Uber straight.

Is uber or grab cheaper?
*
For short trip, fare below RM5, please use Grab. That's all my advice.
Reason:
For Uber, driver will feel cheated. Example, drive to pick up 5km but destination heading only 1km.
For Grab, driver will know the fare, will see the destination. Only willing driver will accept. And yes, during peak hour incentive, high % chance a incentive driver will accept such job. Even during off peak hour, fare driver will accept because at the end of the day, Grab is generous to top up the fare to RM6 to the driver.

For long distance trip, just open up both apps and check. Both apps the same, the fare will be affected by supply and demand.

One question, when i sit in the car, can i sit at the passenger seat at the back?
*
free to sit anywhere. unless if the driver specially request you to sit at a specific place due to a reason.

Took grab the very first time this morning at KLIA2..back to PJ.

Got a driver with 5 star rating..big sedan summore..but..end up its another guy that drive me using a different car. Told me that it's his partner and the work for the same "company".

His partner was driving with phone in hand looking at GPS all the way back to PJ. It was a really wtf first time experience for me..

Actually to be honest, if you feel pyramid area have tons of fares you dont like... dont accept to start with.. go pick up from elsewhere. If we want this kinda choosy drivers we would take the normal taxi...
*
Just use Grab easy. Only willing drivers will accept your request. No ridiculous call and ask your destination, then ask you to cancel.
Because Grab offer incentive to cover short trips rides. But a big no at Uber.

I was once drove an international student from UPM to KLCC. My GPS suggested to go through toll in Kajang and SMART, but i chose PLUS and not to enter SMART so that the rider will only be charged rm1.60 instead of rm2+2.50 only for toll.
However, after the trip, i checked back the payment detail, the student paid rm7 for toll. Dont know how it was calculated, and i really feel bad for him.
*
Uber. It's already upfront fare regardless you take the toll route or not. Rider will pay the fare shown before he book that ride.

If you did not take the toll route, Uber will be the one profit. They charge the rider the toll but wont be paying you the toll money since you didn't take it.
Luckily is SMART toll i think GPS unable to determine whether you pass the toll or not.

I thought the driver will be the one that profited the most if the driver didnt take toll route but uber still charges the rider for it.
The rider paid me rm7 for toll although i only spent rm1.60. Uber doesnt take commission from that rm7. That means for that trip i got rm5.40 more than i should. Or perhaps i missed something?

And i thought the one that calculates fare upfront is Grab. Uber oso like that?
*
As i mention in the previous post. Because of SMART toll. Side by side with normal route. So Uber assume you used the toll.
But if you avoid any other toll, then Uber profits as the rider upfront fare already includes any toll along the route.
