Hi, I ahve a fuji s5500 camera but never really used it properly...always auto only... can some si fu teach me how to uise the advance settings. Ie 1. How do I take a picture of a person but the background is blur or out of focus? I adjusted the aperture up and down but pic still look same to me....is it object are too close to my subject thats y background still dont look blur? 2. How do i take moving objects where subject is clear but backgorund moving...ie light blur? is it must use photo shop ar?? thank you for your tips in advance....want to learn more abt photography......but not sure s5500 good enuff....slr a bit too expensive for beginner i feel... not sifu here, but for #1, you need to achieve a small DOF, zoom ur lens to max, set aperture to max (lowest F value), and take the picture.  for #2, i think you wanna do something like take a picture of a moving car and keep the car sharp but the background out of focus? I believe u need to set a moderately slow shutter speed and try to keep ur cam focus on the object.....will need many tries to get a good shot.. btw, im just a n00b...  there might be other better ways for #2

thanks...i try that... means for #1 i have to zoom max (ie 10x and set aperture to max?) umm...can compact / auto camera do this also?
