QUOTE(cscheat @ Feb 1 2017, 09:42 PM) civic vs altis ... any advice Depends on what is important to you: Civic - better power, better handling and more fun car to drive (Noisy, Some new car problems which is not solved) Altis - better comfort, quieter, proven reliable (Old mans car feel, Sluggish) This post has been edited by MetallicSilver: Feb 2 2017, 11:15 PM

QUOTE(guilt79 @ Feb 5 2017, 10:21 AM) I got. Same like other K&N products. You don't feel anything but acceleration improves. Wait. You talking about 1.5TC? Cause mine is 1.5TC. Quick question. Using other than Honda parts is ok? As in no warranty issues?

QUOTE(guilt79 @ Feb 12 2017, 03:06 PM) Sorry for later reply. Actually can fix yourself. Just Philip screwdriver will do. The filter is lifetime and improves acceleration. HP only gives extra 1HP. If you want more, go for Cold Air Injection or Short Ram. Those give max 5% HP Thanks Bro. Will look see look see around Melaka

QUOTE(thefinal @ Feb 13 2017, 12:28 AM) im just order my civic... im wonder should i do tinted in manufacture or outside? anyone please recommend me? Mine by Honda/Ecotint.nothing to shout about. Paid between 2.5 to 3k. Too excited about the new car so I did not do comparison and ok to everything to SA said. Workmanship nothing to shout about. My window and rear was totally redone by Ecotint after a few months due to some sort of fungal thingy. I think I uploaded the photo here before.

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Feb 13 2017, 08:33 AM) This is not an entirely accurate assumption. The rule of thumb for all vehicle manufacturers is that any 3rd party installations which causes problems with the car or its associated parts will result in that part / damage not being covered by the manufacturers warranty. This is a general clause to protect the vehicle manufacturer but even then it will need to be proven that the 3rd party add on did in fact cause the problem. Window tints rarely cause any issues unless its too thick / heavy and damages the power window motor in the long run. Branded tints will not cause any such problems. So for tints, I would say its perfectly alright to have it installed by a 3rd party authorised dealer. Actually very subjective and based on individual case. If replacement cost too heavy for them don't be surprised they might use this as an issue. Simple example is changing rims, eventhough same size as factory set can void your brake system warranty. Some can lepas. Subjective.

QUOTE(Wind82 @ Feb 13 2017, 09:50 AM) Guys, off topic abit. If lets say trade in car to Honda to buy Civic, normally the NCB transfer is done by the SA? Or we need to do it ourself? Thanks! NCB is automatically transferred as long as previous vehicle is under your name and no claim issues.

QUOTE(babyblue89 @ Feb 13 2017, 09:48 AM) I keep the smart tag in the glovebox. when i wan to use smart tag, i just put on the top to scan. QUOTE(isr25 @ Feb 13 2017, 09:47 AM) I keep the smart tag in the glovebox. Only take it out when I am close to the toll and hold it up against the windshield, before putting it back into the glovebox. Then again, I live in JB, and only go through the toll once in a blue moon Hahaha.. i think most people do that including me But since i moved to Melaka i drive more often to KL so getting a bit annoying cos too many donation booth in KL.

QUOTE(rayhvs @ Feb 13 2017, 10:10 AM) NCB transfer can be done by your SA if you are buying Honda Insurance for your new Civic. In case where you prefer to buy insurance other than HIP (such as Etiqa, Kurnia and etc), you may have to transfer by your own. Actually NCB is tied to the individual and not the car or any particular insurance company. So you can buy Etiqa this year and Kurnia the next, you still get the same discount as they share the same database.

QUOTE(GeekinE90 @ Feb 20 2017, 03:14 PM) I stuffed pillows in the trunk to absorb the noise. It's much better. For those experiencing really loud road noise try the following: 1) Check tyre pressures 2) Remove Honda cargo boot tray if you have one 3) Leave the rear armrest folded up 4) Stuff a few pillows in the trunk and gauge the difference. Front wheel arch is the main culprit

QUOTE(ReVolVolution @ Feb 20 2017, 09:25 AM) anyone notice that the tyre noise gets louder? am at 6k mileage. Seems that it's louder than when new or before. Anyone changed their tyres and is happy with the tyre noise? Tyres get noisier when they harden which is after usage and the top soft layer wears off. Hence the noise getting louder progessively. Also, generally our Civic wheel arch dampening is quite poor compared to other similar segment cars hence the excessive tyre noise even in moderate speed (you will notice more if you are used to driving other cars.) Changing to quieter tyres will help initially but also not for long and not much difference after prolonged usage. The initial quietness will wear off as well. Solution... turn up the volume

QUOTE(berann @ Feb 20 2017, 06:30 PM) But Honda claims 10th Gen greatly improved noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels, and “class-leading quietness”. lol Maybe better than previous gen. I am not sure. Personally, the one thing ii think this car need improvement is tyre noise. Wind sound comes after 130 which is acceptable. But I still love this car to bits coz the drive experience wins hands down This post has been edited by MetallicSilver: Feb 20 2017, 08:46 PM

QUOTE(ReVolVolution @ Feb 20 2017, 07:01 PM) Wow.... Stuff some pillows eh... Hehehe... First time hearing it. Some tyres are just plain noisy. I've used S Drive long time ago in my Altis. Straight away can hear the rumbling noise. After a few weeks, cannot tahan I changed the whole tyres to Bridgestone RE002 (latest one that time). Straight away can feel the difference and it lasted me quite some time before I sold the car. Generally I think Altis has better noise dampening and comfort. Anyway I use to use Michelin on my previous car, also much quieter than Conti but not enough to make me feel my money's worth for the new Michelin tires.. and normally the noise reduction is obvious when we first change coz New vs old. Not to mention I hate stoopid Conti tires, local made iwith mport price

QUOTE(ck.chunkeat @ Feb 20 2017, 08:51 PM) I experienced louder road noise. Recently i can really hear the motor passing by my car more clearer compare to when I just got the car. Also, my Maintenance minder is showing "Service due now" with 240km left but the earliest slot for service is next monday. Was busy so I totally forgot to call to book for a service slot. Should i watch out for anything so that I prevent it from reaching 0? If you hear obvious motorbike noise then should check if door seal is ok. Door sound dampening is not bad for Civic. Pass by a few hundred is ok for servicing unless you overshoot by 1k. My SC (Honda Melaka) told me. This post has been edited by MetallicSilver: Feb 20 2017, 09:00 PM

QUOTE(bluehedgehog @ Feb 21 2017, 06:51 PM) Good deal If you can choose the most expensive and original tint I chose Raytech Premier 6 - RM2800. Had to redo after 1 month as got fungal spots. They came pickup my car from office and redo for free. Plus point is good heat reflection when compared with my friends 3M tint.

QUOTE(knwong @ Feb 23 2017, 07:52 PM) Its a spot in between the tint and glass like a small air bubble but blue in color and without air inside. I shared here before i think in V2. Ecotint said its maybe caused by the gel use use to fix the tint. Anyway that was in September. No problems until now.
