Norton 360 is better than Norton Internet Security 2007 in some respects, namely that it's lighter on system resources.

Check it out here for the comparison of N360 VS NIS 2007

The good: Norton 360 is mercifully light on system resources; it's intuitive, covers most of the bases that a comprehensive security-and-performance tool should, and includes free online storage.

The bad: Norton 360 doesn't support Firefox or Opera browsers; doesn't include wireless security tools, doesn't provide an ID vault for passwords or credit card info.

I can say that all the cons are the most important safety reason why i wanna use a good AV, ID password is very important sweat.gif

Nod32 is built with the target to have the lowest RAM usage in mind. Anyways, CHIP Germany and PC Gamer had tested Symantec/Norton AV and found it only lost to NOD32 in term of resources used.
*
which means that NOD32 has more resources rite which is good??

Didn't really experiment with antivirus software.... What I can say is I dislike Norton coz some virus that are quarantined by the software infects my PC when I used it last time (that's probably ages ago).... Also takes up a lot of resources in my PC... So decided not to have any antivirus installed in my PC... Any problem, just format... Been not using antivirus software for like 1 year... laugh.gif
*
i agree with not to like norton AV, but that doesnt make all AV is bad
its a very risky choice for u to choose not to install any AV on your system
firewall and AV is the 2 most important thing, even using them we still have a very big possibility to receive unwanted stuff specially when your system is connected to the internet 24/7

just my opinion laugh.gif

Hahaha... Just be careful where u surf on the internet lor... And make sure u don't download files that u might know that it contains spyware.... For me, it's fine not having antivirus... Just follow the 2 guidelines and that's it.... Of coz having antivirus is better but it slows down performance of ur PC.... I just use whatever software that is nescessary for my PC... laugh.gif
*
you are using a quad core processor + 4GB ram and yet scared that AV will slow down your system?? blush.gif
it will only take a little bit of extra time during start up rite??
after that there will be no other effect

Based on my personal experiences.

For free AV: Avira AntiVir. AVG is not bad either, but prefer AntiVir.

For paid AV: Kaspersky.

You can run your AV scan in the background and go on with your normal daily surfing/word processing/stuff (Not sure about gaming though) on Kaspersky... that's what I always do laugh.gif Doesn't lag or slow down anything and it's barely noticeable.
*
im using core 2 duo so far no problem when scanning my system while doing surfing or watching movie
but playing games will be a bit laggy scanning by NOD32 blush.gif
maybe should go for quad core already laugh.gif

I used Norton Antivirus 2007, Norton Internet Security 2007, AVG Antivirus and Kapersky Antivitus. All also quite good but still got a little bit of lag. The laggiest is Norton Internet Security 2007 and complicated to uninstall Symantec (Norton) products. Just my 2 cents.
*
norton AV is famous for the slowest and take lots of memory sweat.gif
i heard that Bit Deffender also not bad
sold in PC fair for RM88..quite a good buy though
