Once u install vista without any antivirus post-installed, the Windows Security Center notification icon at the bottom right corner will turned red, indicating security issues and in this case for the lack of avtivirus. Click the icon and it'll pop the Windows Security Center window. Under the "Malware Protection" / "Virus Protection" tab they indicate the lack of antivirus or non updated Spyware scanner. There's a little "Find A Program" button whereby it can directed u to another website where u can get Antiviruses provided by Microsoft Partners like from Symantec, Trend Micro, CA and few others. U can try it for free. Done it myself using Symantec Antivirus trial for 90 days.

I've used NOD32, Avast and AVG and all works.
Also used Norton 07. Why all the AVs? I was a gunie pig to test software for Vista... lol
*
u enjoy installing AV and reinstalling them??
OMG, that is the worst thing to enjoy.lol
have to update and deep full scan..waste lots of time..
i accept that Norton 07 is quite good, its just that it takes lots of memory that makes the computer lag easier.. rclxub.gif

true..2Gb, i can't manage

because just for home users i dont think that we need such a big ram rite??

yes home user no need high ram...but the main factor is Vista itself.require high ram to run efficiently sweat.gif
*
yeah, thats true...
but i'm running vista enterprise and business with 1Gb ram and i have no prob so far running multiple programs:P
1GB is actually the minimum requirement for business edition and 512MB for
vista home

Guys.. I heard that kaspersky consume very big memory in Vista.. anyone can confirm it to me??

I've been using Kaspersky up to now for my XP. Now changing to Vista... I'm still looking for a good anti-virus to use on it.. thought of kaspersky... but need some clarification on the memory used by kaspersky in Vista.
*
sorry Phoenixwunin, i never experience using Kaspersky before
maybe u can consider using NOD32..im using it for both windows XP and vista.. It works fine to me smile.gif Memory usage for NOD32 is only 22,224k rclxms.gif

Better to use all in one software la. Like NIS. Me currenty using N360 in my notebook
*
All in one software??
i was once using norton security.. it was really heavy, taken lots of memory..
and i dont really think that just for home users, we need all those all in one software..just a waste..correct me if im wrong though tongue.gif

And zonealarm with AV also didn't satisfy me..i ended up using back my zone alarm pro, spyware doctor and NOD32 smile.gif i think it works better than all in one security icon_rolleyes.gif
