Weedles are actually quite rare in USUM or SUMO.
So no. Yungoos are more likely.

I've a completed living national Dex in my pokebank.
But when that's done via genning.... there's zero accomplishment hahaha.

I am not getting it.
The mechanics is not my cup of tea.
Prefer the regular one which I have grown up with since the original red.

The only thing good is the graphics and remixed soundtracks.
But I guess that alone might be worth it for some.

For me I just can’t accept the dumbing down of the game. From reviews, it is shown that the gameplay is many steps back.

Most of the features listed below are changed/missing.

- Abilities (and hidden abilities)
- items
- EV and IV
- breeding
- similar move set mechanics
- trading with previous generations
- Nature
- weather. Eg: ninetails changing the weather
- mega evolution (for all Kanto Pokémon)
- z moves
- evolution mechanics (leveling up/trading/stones/happiness)
- double battles

They state it’s a “core” Pokemon game and it’s marketed as one.

Also, it is developed by gamefreaks.
Which has never developed any spinoff games prior to this year.



So for regular players, of course we will compare it with Pokemon RBY/FRLG. Since this game was very heavily based on that generation.

We definitely know that this will be very attractive to Pokémon go players and it will still sell like hot cakes.

But it’s only expected for regular old players who likes Pokémon for the competitive scene to compare and complain. With what they’re doing with let’s go, Pokémon coliseum is more of a core game than this. After all, we all have been waiting for a proper high res core Pokémon game.

Guess we will just have to wait for late 2019.

I hope they don’t stick to this system for gen8.
Sure, it might bring different tiers of Pokémon’s closer in terms of max possible stats obtained. But how they get there oversimplifies too many things.

- no abilities
- no items
- base stats is not so critical

Everything will be played out simply based on
- type
- moveset
- where you dump your EV/CP/AV points in.

This makes the game more monotonous imo.
Abilities and items add more dimension to the game.
Some Pokémon might have lower base stats but have a useful ability to make up for it.

Now, though you might see more types of Pokémon... the strategies used will be very monotonous as there is very little differentiation factor between Pokémon’s.

Last point, while the formula might be true, I don’t trust verlisify personal opinion on this.

Not possible.
You can’t even even copy your save file out to a pc.

It’s more of a completely new remake with very different mechanics.
While it’s a core game, a lot of mechanics didn’t carry over.

I wonder what other mechanics will they add ?
Galar region Pokémon’s? More Megaevolution?

Wonder if we can transfer Pokémon via pokebank too or if they’ve a national dex.
Would make collecting all Pokémon a whole lot easier.

Sun and moon doesn’t have a national dex.

Go for ultra. It’s bwtter in every way.
No reason to go for the regular version.

For the one with traditional mechanics, the latest is still ultra sun and moon.
It took me 6 months to clear all 50 levels in the battle tree.

Let's go uses dumbed down mechanics akin to pokemon go.

Dynamaxing.
So far for me.
Megaevolution > Z move > Dynamax

Can’t wait to see a megapokemon Dynamaxing and then use a Z-move.

Waiting for a Giant Mega Charizard X to do an inferno overdrive.

The real grind starts after postgame.
That’s where you try battling online.
Without optimized Pokémon’s, winning would be really tough.

Recent versions have very good quality of life features though.
Unlimited tm use, no more hm, poke bank, etc.

No legendaries. No past starters other than the charmander line.
Even many pseudo legendaries and OU Pokémon are removed.

This will change the meta quite a bit.

Thought of migrating some of my team over from USUM. But I guess I’ll need to start nearly from scratch. I’m still gonna try to import my perfect IV Aegislash over when possible.

I’m considering if I should buy a switch lite during 11-11.
I miss playing Pokémon on a portable device like the 3DS.
