well i remember last time when i called them and talked about the constant bad tracert i get from TmNets servers and it goes something like this:

<after lengthy talks argueing its actually TMnets fault and not my machine>
me : ok i have done some trace route and it shows that the signals are jammed at Tmnets server before reaching out.

Tmnet guy : erm... what is trace route?

~ at this point i feel pointless ~

Tmnet guy : anyway, can you please do that check i told u about just now again? (after checking 2 time already)

me : nevermind.

this is all guessworks but i think it bear some truth to the recent degrading in line quality (again):

maxis recently released a broadband services in KL whereby ppl can get a free router and have wireless broadband connection to their pc.

From what i know is that broadband service in malaysia is monopolised by Telekom and therefore those bandwidth maxis is using is leased from telekom.

Due to the usual lameness of Telekom (more customer and less hardware upgrade) i bet those bandwith leased to maxis are the bandwith that we have been having for the past year. and if i am right it explains why recently the 218.111 have literally went from heaven to hell.

So game on tmnet, death to quality improvement via competition. all hail monopoly. rclxms.gif GG

I heard it was something else though. In the past couple of months into 2007, all data transmissions outside of US going in are being screened. Hence the lag. Why? Fighting the war against terror, apparently. It's random so it may come and go.

Line connections have been easing up a little bit recently. But again, it also depends. Depending on the server you're on, it also depends on the server reaching "critical mass" to cause "significant lag spikes". That's what happened yesterday around 6 pm - 8 pm on Aman'Thul (Oceanic server). The latency jumped from 400 ms to 2.5k. After that, it returned back to normal. With US servers, I've no experienced but it could be better. I'm not sure.

the thing is my guild have member from Singapore and Australia but all dont have lag except for the malaysian lol

btw Singapore and Australia member has been getting 200-300+ ping constant, while we get 500-800. icon_question.gif

get Gamepath for WoW and solve all your latency issues, was quite happy with mine.

i have been using gamepath for quite sometime now. it is still very slow recently, and infact its even more stable to not use gamepath these few days.

in both case (with gamepath or not using gamepath) 25man content is still unplayable. clearing thrash is ok. but once boss fight starts, ur connection drop like a brick.

i find recently without using gamepath. u can still stay online but lag like hell, i can still do normal uld25 (i cant even do normal mode with gamepath recently) but anything demanding like any hardmodes . u will make the group fail due to your lag (low dps/heal/tps, whatever ur assigned to do).

also a note about gamepath:
when i started using it 5 months ago their gateways were very good. But now i guess they wanna make more money, they have been showing signs of overpopulating each of their gateways. the common practice used by most profit minded organisation anyway, i blame the govnmt for failing to enforce business ethics.

its sad seeing ppl who stay in cyberjaya also failing to get good ping haha, i guess my area is hopeless.

what is meaning of cyberjaya? haha cyberlol or cyberphail?

edit:
i used to ge able to get good ping using 60.48.xx.xxx ip. can anyone who have been using this ip give me a good new IP to work with?
