QUOTE(stringfellow @ Feb 9 2007, 04:02 AM) He's reasoning that it's a miracle to be able to do a game in 1080p on DVD. Is that such a huge feat that it's HIS HOLY GRAIL that only companies like EA and Sega was able to do so? Or because 1080p games arent supposed to be possible on a DVD, perhaps? God know the ridiculousness of those possible claims of his. All in the name of downplaying Bluray, no doubt! Too bad this time, it bite him back in the behind. ROFLMAO! my reasoning was 1080p games can be put on DVDs. You dont need a Blu-ray disk to enjoy 'hidef' games as many of us would like to believe. Therefor the $200 is a burden for gaming consumers that can be avoided. |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Feb 9 2007, 04:19 AM) Your argument about movies does not apply to games. Bluray/HD-DVD/DVDS are simply storage media when it comes to game, not when it comes to the resolution. Try better next time. so why a year of delay and $200 more expensive when Blu-ray is "just a storage media" to PS3 games? I bet there are many PS3 owners think that one of the reason for the inclusion of Blu-ray is because of 1080p. |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Feb 9 2007, 04:26 AM) Because Sony wants a double whammy, game machine and a movie player?I dont deny the fact that they should be focusing on one thing more than another, but hey, that's not the issue here, 1080p GAMES <------highlight games, not movies----> has NOTHING to do with what media it is on, that is up to the console to do its thing. So why make gaming consumers pay $200 extra and a FULL year of delay to include a movie format in the drive? But then again, this topic title is about you downplaying 1080p on GAMES on Bluray innit? |

QUOTE(redbull_y2k @ Feb 11 2007, 05:35 AM) and how much does a PC capable of playing HD-DVD cost then? U won't be able to watch a movie smoothly with a low-end processor and graphics card now can we? one hardware can be used for two platform PC and XBox .. priceless .. the cheapest blu-ray PC drive is sold at Compuzone for RM2,7**. Oh you can only use it for PC. And it doesnt come with a free Blu-ray movie disk too.Even my PC struggles abit, with cpu utilization around 80%+ when i tried playing hddvd movie on my PC. |
