My old gallery is here : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/330920

My images are mostly simple, non-artsy and easy references for accurately portrayed images. Images are like easy-to-understand languages, people can learn and follow thru and this is what photography supposed to be, learn and share and learn. Images tell a lot of stories but I tend to not beat around the bush becoz I am not a story teller. There are a lot of offensive critiques out there but I am not here to post-and-defend, I am here to educate and give simple answers to simple questions so my images provide a difference approach to all viewers, be it newbies or experienced photographers.

I dun claim to know everything but I will answer as much questions regarding photography as possible, within topic of course.

So ... on with the shots! Unless stated, all images are taken using the 2001 model of the Canon EOS 1D. Some quick specifications :

- Magnesium body and environmentally sealed
- 4.48 Megapixel CCD Sensor
- 1.3x Crop Factor
- Simultaneous RAW + JPEG format images (selectable)
- Maximum burst speed of 8 fps up to 21 JPEG or 16 RAW
- ISO 200 - 1600 in 1/3 stop steps
- 45 AF Points (auto or selective)
- Evaluative, partial, center-weighted, spot and multi-spot metering
- Shutter speed range: Bulb, 30 - 1/16000 sec (1/500 Flash X-sync)
- IEEE 1394 Connectivity
- CF Type I or II (inc. IBM Microdrive)
- Hybrid Auto White Balance
- Camera Settings : 21 Custom Functions and 25 Personal Functions

lao eh. bokeh~~

Bokeh is one thing ... the part I like is that the lens can STILL focus eventhough the model is far away and badly litted. My camera can still capture at least 4 focussing points, the beauty of Multi-point AF tongue.gif

Added on February 11, 2007, 5:43 pmPhoto Session with Tracy Wailey at Taman Rimba Kiara - The Making

The weather was sunny and warm, bloody harsh shadows and the wind seldom blow. I am the 'cut grass' guy, Ahleong being the main photographer and we have a deflector holder courtesy of Vodafone laugh.gif

user posted image

Being a deflector holder is never simple : You HAVE to stand under the hot sun when your model gets to go under the comfortable shade (I dunno how the hell Nairud can still smile!) sweat.gif

user posted image

A good and smooth deflection means good images ...

Going the lower level - The 'cicak crawl' is not limited to soldiers or the NS anymore! laugh.gif

user posted image

Ahleong ... now I know why your arm get tired after 3 - 5 shots. The 2nd half of the lens' weight is on both of your arms i.e Body + Lens = 2kg mean 1kg is on one of your arms, no wonder tired-lar laugh.gif

ghoshh, nairud aka the the deflactor holder  sweat.gif

Oh yeah ... like a 2 Hours movie that took 4 years to make a.k.a Titanic. Shooting environment are really harsh and there is not short cut to a good photo. Shinchan and Ahleong are very well trained in this already!

Bro, when i see you take this photo, i was thinking, hey it will be over exposed lar.
background too bright her face will be damn underexpose.
but now i see the result, the effect is incredible.
*
I just checked the camera's histogram ... the camera took the metering from 5 close spots : Her forehead where her hair splits, her hair and the background. From my own metering experience ... her face should light up a lil' coz metering taken from forehead, shadow metering taken from hair will blow up the background and highlight metering taken from background shoul mellow down the clipping.

A smart lil' chunk of brick the camera is! laugh.gif

the car is there. Only model.
So either you or AC look for model we are on already.  rclxms.gif
model with long sexy leg would be nice.  laugh.gif
*
Who is going to shoot the model then?

I dunno about the rest of the crew but if the shoot is for commercial use I am afraid we'll have to pay the girls. The girls are so used to getting paid once they stand next to a car I am very sure I cannot convince any model to pose for 'for free'. After all, we're here to support our leggy and sexy friends. It definitely won't cost him an amp and a speaker to hire a model, PM me if your brother is keen brows.gif

i thought they are not getting paid ;p for shooting Hypertune
*
Hypertune has 2 reasons, which is 'wide circulation' and 'popularity', we don't. Like I said, it won't cost a lot but if a wee bit also we cannot pay for the girls' time and energy then I cannot say anything lor. So far you have not heard me mention about paying the girls right? By paying the girls, you pay her for her time and you retain all rights to the images inclusive of NOT letting her have a single photo in return. The rest is all goodwill.

but we do give them a copy of the pics, so there's no need for us to pay...the girls that we've shoot all the while..rite?
*
Based on my experience with models, none of them are interested in posing for a car for their own profile becoz girls dun see a need for it. They rather pose sexily at a waterfall or in a dinnerwear where they can show off more of their potential.

UNLESS ... we get new girls who wanna be seen 'looking like' they posed for a car magazine and wanna be shot in that situation, then this is where we come in. In that case, we cannot choose our girls already, we have to scout around for girls who wanna be 'car girls', get my point?

No lar bro, it is not for commecial or stuff like that.
It is for us to shoot for fun and to practise shooting different kind of theme, instead of girl at waterfall or park.
my brother is willing to lent us the car to use.

I think my bro car will be in hypertune on March or April issue.
not sure wha model will be used. or will there be any model used for his car.
i just hope i can tag along with the shoot.  tongue.gif
*
Dun worry about the hoo-haas of the shoot, if you guys are keen then I will let the word out for models, preferably new faces. Too many 'car girls' around posing for all sorts of cars and stuff, saturating the industry already. When you mention a name, a motosports event will pop-up, i.e "Oh, she-ah, saw her at KLIMS!" or "Saw her at TXN!"

It's completely blur ... and the water didn't actually look as 'silky' as I wanted it to be. You wanna see silky? Wait for Ahleong or my Gabai Waterfall pics, guarantee you steam! brows.gif
