but no $$ to get tubeless rim, any sifus here tried the "ghetto" tubeless conversion before? i know how to do it but im worrying that my rim will be too narrow in order to secure the tire tightly.

QUOTE(ahchat @ Jan 3 2017, 08:09 PM) no need to convert tubeless, unless you hardcore rider... im using mavic xm319 (common rims for entry level hardtail), did some google just now and some people had successfully set up tubeless with it. what rim do you use now? last time im using spank rims, tubes, manage to puncture it after 1 year... just change rim tapes, shud be fine most of the time i got random punctures during the riding to trail, too many nails or chips that are simply unnoticeable. also im currently running 30-32 psi on the rear, i tried running 25-27 psi before, the ride simply became so much more comfortable and also way better grip when i do hard braking, im riding hardtail so having a lower psi at the rear really changes the handling a lot. but then im constantly worried of having pinch flats whenever i hit sharper edges on the trail. |

QUOTE(ecto6453 @ Jan 4 2017, 12:29 AM) hi guys, after much thought i've decided to go with flat pedals on my hardtail..gonna pick up those pedals tomorrow, can't wait to ride with those on. epixon user here, best thing is that you can adjust the travel from 100mm to 140mm easily.anyway, i've also been looking at intermediate/enthusiast level air-sprung fork & 2 forks came to mind. -first is the suntour epixon, i've seen a lot of riders with those on so i guess they must be ok to use. -the second fork i'm looking at is the x-fusion enix. i rarely see those on bikes around where i ride & i wonder why..is it because it's priced higher or it doesn't perform as good as the epixon? and i only see one particular model, the enix on sale around BBS but not the velvet, etc..is the enix an older model, like the epicon used to be before being replaced by the epixon? |

QUOTE(Alpina @ Feb 26 2017, 07:10 PM) Hye guys, new comers in the sport... that's a really good bike for xc, but a mtb will never be as good as rb imo. if all you do is road riding then just change to rb, simply a much faster bike.At first i want to sell it and move to RB, then it make me think? Does it worth it to stick to just one? Heres my spec: Frame: Mosso Falcon111 27.5 Groupset : Deore XT 2X11 M8000 (Just Upgrade) Wheelset : Mavic Crossmax Stem, Handlebar, Seatpost : FSA SLK Pedal: Cap ayam Sadle : Fizik Total weight: 9.5KG [attachmentid=8527684] |

QUOTE(tzuen @ Sep 25 2017, 10:33 AM) FRIM is closing down by phases. And Kiara, it's been a year I haven't been there as well, not sure tracks are getting tougher and floods with people or not. In these days, mostly I cycle at KDCF. Wanna venture Setial Alam trail as well only got kakis for that ~ the last time i've been to FRIM was last December, and already some trails are closed down I had never been to Kiara yet, need some guidance from sifus here so that I know where to go. how's the trails at KDCF though? |

QUOTE(Mavik @ Dec 28 2017, 11:12 AM) Finally start back mountain biking after so many years. Went up Kiara with friends over the past two weekends and had a great time but also super tiring. Realised I need so many gears to endure the tough climb and crazy downhills.... how do you identify which routes to go in Kiara? I went with a friend last week for the first time (both of us are new to kiara actually), we were so confused of where to start and ended up in some places which looked unridable (super rocky and tight). |

QUOTE(jwrx @ Jan 9 2018, 06:42 PM) download the kiara trail maps. For beginners, you should be doing trails like 2k, 4k, kawan-kawan, magic carpet. Strava will also show all the most populor trails. example, this link shows 2k -> Mission out, one of my fav trails https://www.strava.com/segments/9859083 QUOTE(Mavik @ Jan 10 2018, 10:03 PM) My friends who has been going to Kiara for years guided me through. THey thought me that you can also check out the routes here. https://www.traks.org.my/ https://klmbh.org/post/21197279135/trails-of-bukit-kiara But they also thought me about Strava as well. So far only tried 2k+mission down and Bunion trails QUOTE(tongyam @ Jan 10 2018, 10:09 PM) thanks a lot for the guidance guys, i will try to discover them on my next visit. |
