QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Jun 28 2017, 10:35 AM) Hi guys. Finally gotten my own ride last week. Thanks to everyone for their feedback and infos. Helps me a lot in understanding a lot more of mtbs. it depends on your bike frame able to clear with the new ring as well as the length of RDBtw, chain rings... since I am on 2x, it is possible to change my 38T to maybe something bigger like 40T or a bit above? Cheers. |

QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Jun 28 2017, 03:57 PM) Noted and understand the first part but not clear on the part of the length of the RD. Something to do with the overall size of the RD? there are normally 3 types of RD length.Short Cage, Medium Cage and long cage. Short cage mostly used in 1X system with certain tooth sizes Medium cage used in 1X and 2X system Long Cage normally for 3X system it is the same as RB the reason is to provide smoother shifting i guess I am not so expert on this. just my 2cents |

pakai kerosene or diesel better. petrol is too heavy on metal.
ya i too use dishwash liquid as it works like charms. no issue on my bikes. for many years. WHat said on the dishwash not safe is just a marketing gimmick to avoid you from using and sell their own product to u. |

what i know from my LBS, now is that the servo now uses ceramic in XT. which tends to break easily when changing brake pads in a haste. need to be gentle when changing brake pads which has ceramic servos

QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Dec 18 2017, 05:38 PM) If the ceramic servos of tends to break when changing pads in haste, how does it fare in terms of the bumps and knocks when the bike goes over rough terrain? it wont breaks easily. normally when u change the pad, you will need to push back the servo to fit in the new pads. un-experience user will use a screwdriver (normally i do on my old brakes). this will crack/breaks the ceramic inside. If you use the correct tool, which is now being sold in most LBS, you can use it to push open the piston to fit in new pads |
