Honestly I think most people can't tell the difference between Deore, SLX or XT. Me included. Some claim XT is "smoother and faster" but try to ask them to do a blind test with all 3 groupsets. I wonder how many can actually identify which is which. Lol.

I think best option for you now is not to buy new. Go to bicyclebuysell.com and look at 2nd hand bikes within your budget and area. Find something you like and nego kau kau. Buy it and ride it until you get the itch to upgrade... or get bored of it and keep it in your house for the next 6 months.  icon_rolleyes.gif

my 1st bike is deore
never ride xt xtr
my guess only 1) efficient gear shift? 2) lighter <- these mainly i heard from fellow seasoned rider
just my opinion here for new bike since it come with better model
but for frame not easy to guess unless ride it and feel the weight

Thanks for your feedback. I did search around BBS.
Problem is, I don't know whether the price they offer is good or not.
Besides, I don't even know how to check whether the bike is in good condition or the parts are correct.
Easier get scam for newbies like me.. sad.gif

if you decided to get siskiu, then should be no problem
when sudah bosan can upgrade lighter air fork + lighter wheelset

Sorry for noob question..
After riding, can I just spray away all the mud, etc with water only?
Googling  around, many suggest using cleaning agents n also need to lube the chain, etc.

good morning guys,
any advice/opinion on how to transport my 29er?
using sedan (Kia Forte) and i found out that
when i remove front tire and put on the back seat
it wont fit and i have to snug it a bit, which is not nice for my car haha

bike rack? which model?
or any other way? experience?

thank you~
*
usually i take off both tyres,
next time i try like miao said
tilt the bike but fork must protect with something to prevent interior scratches

nevermind i will try open both tires, i hope wont be much problem
front one, i experience
my brake calipers need to adjust after i install it back hahahaha
*
eh, like that sure can fit without removing rear tyre
from boot, just shove handlebar to seat area hmm.gif
if quite heavy bike, maybe need a hand to pull inside

for brake calipers if i remove tyre, always put something like cardboard
at brake pad

not so technical trail, just some palm oil fire road & some hill

quite skeptical for oem light, cheaper can get rm50 for 400lm light
but durability?
