Hi. Heard they have started to roll out the ckd version. Any ideas on the price? What's the average price difference between a cbu and a ckd unit?

The CKD has not been launched yet. There are still come CBU stock in the market but are now limited.
As far as I know, there won't be any price drop.

For certain models, the government may allow the distributor to import certain number of cars to fast-track the launch, with condition that a CKD plan has been established in the long run. The duties therefore are fixed, for this limited quantity of CBU and subsequent CKD units. This is what I think is happening for Kia Grand Carnival for Malaysia.

Some promos going on including pre reg units. Looking at sorento diesel and carnival. Not sure if KV5 applicable for pre reg units.

If carnival has CKD maybe price would be cheaper and maybe better specs?

if CKD the price should be decreased by 8% to 12%....earlier i want to wait for the CKD version, however as Sorento is having good discount and i ant wait that longer, i just proceed for the new Sorento....

I think at the moment pre-Registered only applicable to Sorento 2.2 Diesel lower specs....knocking the price from RM158k to discount price of RM138k...

THere is only pre-reg units for Sorento 2.2 Diesel LS Variant.

CKD will NOT decrease in price. As mentioned before, when Kia Malaysia launched the Kia Grand Carnival, they had sought special approval for limited units of CBU Grand Carnival with special duties /taxes , to fast track the launch of this model in Malaysia with the long term view of doing CKD assembly in Malaysia. As such, there is no difference in the pricing for both CBU and CKD, as the CBU is regarded a pre-introduction to the CKD program.

what the different in spec of the few variant, check the official page it does not show why the difference in prices? And also what promo are there available currently.

Any possibilty of additional promotions for Kia this weekend during the Malaysia Autoshow 2017 in Serdang? Seriously considering the Grand Carnival, but am holding off until this weekend before deciding.
