Ikhwan Mastercard petrol includes 5172 MCC?

This is the right thing to do. While paying statement balance always is good advise, once that hasn't been done most bank should be able to assist in refunding the interest charge once CS sees the chronology of transactions.

Interestingly my wife (who doesn't have a great record for CC applications, the former Citibank rejected her many many times) just got Ikhwan Amex approved through online (MAE) application. She has had one (non Islamic) card from maybank from 2020-2021, otherwise only got a small joint savings account there with me, and those junior account for one of our kids.

Just wanted to ask - is this topic or the American Express topic more on-topic for Ikhwan Amex?

Right, then I have a quite 'basic' question which can't seem to find from their product FAQ - the Ramadhan/Syawal dates are for spending within the months or statement dates within the month? So next year from mid feb to mid apr (let's say Feb 16 to Apr 20) the RM100 cap is for those statements which fall within that range?

So for example if my statement is Mar 6, any Fri/Sat spend from Feb 6 onwards will be in the Mar 6 statement and hence contribute to 100 ringgit cap?

Similarly since statement of May 6 is outside Syawal already, so effectively any spend after Apr 5 is no longer RM100 cap?

Or does Maybank send out details every year for this (since dates change every year)?

Thanks, so simply is Feb and Mar of 2026, any spending within those months (as long as transacted fri/sat and posted within the month itself) will have RM100 quota per month.

Hi all, wanted to ask on the Ikhwan Amex using to pay SPayLater - does Maybank have a similar problem as Public Bank where Shopee related transactions appear to be 8 hours earlier (GMT+0) - hence for example a transaction at 6am on 1st October would appear in Public Bank system to have been done late at night on 30th September?
