Cashiers let you pay bills using credit card?

As far as I know one Petronas outlet allows bills payments with CC. I think I saw it in Reload TnG thread or somewhere.

you should ask the respective petronas staff whether they accept cc.

if they accept cc, yes, ikhwan mc would get CB. CB is based on merchant MCC, NOT the items you pay for.
there are other petronas stations that accept bill payment via epay, but definitely cash-only.
*
I searched this thread, it shows Petronas Kinrara? Anyway it's OK because I don't pay bills via petrol stations. laugh.gif

Shit, after I lowered down my credit limit by 30% for my conventional card, applied Ikhwan Petronas again and still got rejected. Why ah?

No issue with my credit record as I just got my Barcelona Signature last month. Previously was suspecting credit limit too high so cannot get another Maybank credit card so I lowered it and applied again, still cannot get ><
*
I think you got it wrong and now buta2 your MBB CL is lowered and MBB doesn't give big leap in term of CL, you will need to apply again next time. doh.gif
As what we suggested and also posted in post #2, you need to split CL from your existing CL. That means your Ikhwan is not approved with any limit, it's taken from your conventional limit.

Oh is it? I don't mind getting my CL lowered...can't really use that much.

Can you elaborate more on "split CL from your existing CL"? I know it should pretty self explanatory and I did read the first page but still couldn't understand. I can't seem to differentiate it with lowering down my CL.
Example, let's say my current conventional credit card CL is 10k. I lowered it down to 5k. So I have 5k more for Ikhwan. It does not work that way?

So what happens to the 10k CL if I split it? Can split to any amount?

In that case, how should I split the CL? I went to the Maybank branch in Sunway and told them my issue but they never suggested splitting CL...so I didn't know there's a difference  sweat.gif
*
For e.g., you have 10k limit and your Ikhwan card just got rejected, email to MBB telling them you got rejected recently. You want them to reconsider again and you are willing to split 2k from conventional to this Islamic card. So once they approve you, you will get 8k on conventional and 2k in Islamic.

Well, tested by many and proven works. I got mine this method too and only split RM 2k to it. laugh.gif

you can request split 1k and get additional 1k limit
last time i requested split 1k
but mbb din split and gave me 1k limit for ikhwan master
so get additional limit
whistling.gif  rclxs0.gif

Nah, it's OK. I don't want to be calculative over that RM 1k, moreover if I were to max out RM 1k, I need to quickly clear the balance in order for new swipes to be transacted. Then I won't fully enjoy 20-days free interest period.

Though I already stopped using this card after I got my VS in 2016. Once my AF is not waived, I will shift back to this card. My groceries expenses have been so much lower these days, only use it to reload TnG maybe two months once or sometimes three months.

I've to say that I can see from this thread alone that majority got their Ikhwan by splitting from conventional CL.

Even myself got by splitting from conventional CL.

As this has been discussed so many times before, it's like been hard-coded into my brain and I even straight advise my friends to just split CL if want to apply for Ikhwan.

But there are people who get Ikhwan through new application.
*
Yes. Hence I only suggested to use split method only if it is rejected.

One thing that I'm really curious about this card is, why is it so hard to apply via new/fresh application?

I mean, I've been following this thread for quite some time now and the rejection rate is pretty high comparing to other cards. Even my friends have had hard time getting this card not to mention my personal experience biggrin.gif

I can see that most are actually existing card holders with MBB but yet still rejected. Some even earn quite a lot and conventional card CL not very high yet rejected. The best part is, I believe some even never had any outstanding with any CC (clean record even after using CC for years) but still rejected.

I don't really care about this actually tbh but it's really interesting to have some insights I mean like is it because it's islamic CC or simply because MBB is just stringent for this card...
*
I think it's due to Islamic entity..

why ==> for those who spend time in lowyat credit card rebate , the "why" should be the same , to get $ out from credit cards/bank
if not , why the hell waste time to find out ?
Currently i hold :
1. PBB VS  + Sup == RM38 + 38  + RM50/weekly ===> consistently meet
2. UOB YOLO= RM50
3. HLB WISE = RM100
4. ALLIANCE YOUNICE = RM50
5. MBB Ikwan = RM5--50 depend on Fri/Sat grocery/Petrol

as u can see, RM50 here , RM50 there ...... it's add up monthly and yearly !
*
"Why the hell?" No need to be so rude. We are not wasting our time, knowing how to maximize cash back without spending unnecessarily is far important.
Honestly, that additional RM 200-300 every month will not make us super rich. Really.

Honestly, I’m been using my VS for petrol and groceries so much, I’ve totally forgotten about this ikhwan.

And yes, 200-300 here could be someone’s one day salary sometimes. Not worth the headache trying to maximize something when you can’t :/
*
Yes me too. I haven't been using since Oct 2016. I don't fulfill the minimum spending amount for VS, I will be charged with AF next month. Time to come back to Ikhwan for temporary before applying VS again. tongue.gif

If the merchant accepts PayWave, does it mean it will auto accept PayPass too?

Hi geng...my cc application had been approved...but didn't receive yet. It appears already at maybank2u website as "visa ikhwan gold". Is it the Petronas type??? Omg...I don't want that..caused I told the officer I want the normal ikhwan...hmmmm.
*
I hope it's not this card: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards

Hmmm could be, but petronas ikhwan cc quite good meh...8% cb for petrol and groceries spending at petronas station every weekend and 1% cb every weekdays.
*
I don't think there's 1% cash back on weekdays? unsure.gif

QUOTE(chiahau @ Apr 22 2018, 06:34 PM)
Not all can accept.

Burger king accepts PayWave but not Paypass.

Sigh. Any idea about some of the supermarkets? Like Jaya Grocer, AEON or AEON BiG? I will change mine and try as well since I'm working in MV, so I will frequent these stores more often.

*
You will see two cards under your name and they share same credit limit.

Just ask them to add one card for you. I believe if you ask them to cancel and change to MC to you will take longer time.

I already submitted my request around 6.30 just now, since it's too late for same day collection, I can only collect tomorrow. I will try out the Wave feature on this Friday.
