@sitescope you are using China rom. Hopefully there will be a Global ROM for 8.1.3 soon.

Aside from this occasional problem, which will be resolved with a MIUI update, RM4P is an awesome phone in terms of price to performance.

I can't think of any other RM700 phone that performs this well.

RM4P is best budget phone I ever used. Same spec as RMN4, but with a smaller screen.

Hey guys, i struggled to buy either redmi 4 prime or mi 5,

My requirement for the phone is
1) smooth
2) use for social networking apps such as whatsapp, wechat, facebook, twitter, instagram, phone call and some other basic function
3) not gonna play games on the phone, not heavy phone gamer
4) phone able to detect location fast, waze able to function and get accurate location fast
5) surf google chrome and internet
6) able to take photo normally (not blur will do)

Any recommendations or ideas on getting a redmi 4 prime or mi 5 for the above requirement??

anyone got redmi 4 prime with slim bezel?

im aim that one (without anoying black bezel) or can strecth my budget to mate 9..actually already queue up for mocha color.

when connect usb, can select charging only or transfer files (MTP) or transfer photos (PTP)

but yeah china rom have faster update than global

great to hear that, 5 inch is just good for me. did the location service works perfectly? because my previous mi 5 always unable to detect the location accurately

am happy with the directD unit I bought few weeks back. No need to worry about flashing ROM (even though it's not really that difficult to flash). Just need to wait for OTA (over the air) upgrade or updates. Once you flash ROM you may have to do further tweaks (not in all cases, but usually needs to), unless of course you are one of those that like those things. I know I was, but am a little too lazy for that now. Prefer the simple stock OTA upgrades.

oh well. want run MIUI smooth definitely the 3GB is ideal choice, even 2GB are barely survive with 3rd party apps installed.
