Folks,

Doing some monitor survey here, hope you guys can help me out.

Requirements:
- IPS is a must - I like my jack sparrow prawn clear and beautiful, no compromise
- 144 Hz refresh rate
- decent response time
- 1920x1080 or QHD resolution
- I’ll be transitioning from a laptop to a desktop, I need the monitor to be versatile
Q1 & Q2 of 2019
hook up the monitor as a primary monitor with a laptop (GPU: GTX960M), so I’m guessing the GPU can only support FHD resolution

Q3 and beyond
Retire laptop, build a rig with RTX2060. I suppose RTX2060 is able to power QHD without any issues.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi athlonmax,

We do plan to bring it into Malaysia, estimate Q1 or Q2 of 2019. We don't have the price yet until it is available.

Do follow our FB for more updates.

Thank you

Hi AsusMY, may i know if Asus Malaysia gonna sell this new model VG279Q in Malaysia? and how much is the price.
Thanks

This model arrived here in Singapore. At the IT show yesterday and the price is S$659. The seller is bundling it with "gaming" headset.

it's kind of overprice, even in Singapore context. VG279 is selling for US$329 on Amazon.

What would the tentative pricing here in Malaysia?

I'm expecting it to cheaper though.

The price is around what I expected. Due to VG278Q still available largely at current market. Hope they giv a good bundle during launch, totally gonna get it

Went for VG279Q. FHD, IPS, 144Hz.

Resellers dropped the price to S$616 on the last day of the IT show. Price is still steep but I took the plunge and decided to pay the Asus tax and early-adopters tax.

Had been using it for one evening. Besides the low pixel density, everything else is great. No regrets.

Color-wise, it looked good out of the box. The “game-more” settings are bs to me. I copied a calibrated settings that I got from Reddit and it looked better.

For my games, it looks buttery smooth. However, there’s some “perceived” motion stuttering when I’m watching videos.

I have yet investigate the cause of it. Note, that I’m connecting this via HDMI with my MSI laptop. I’ve not purchased a mini display port to display port cable to test my lappy’a display port. Maybe I’m sitting too close. Maybd it’s the video player’s software configuration. Maybe.

I’ll evaluate the result again once my gaming rig arrives.

As for the free “gaming headset” that comes with the purchase. It’s a Asus Cerberus Cyber Cafe edition headset.

Heh. I won’t be bothered to open the package. Off it goes to carousel!

I hope You guys get a better deal here in Malaysia.

Seems like Asus VG279Q already hit Malaysia. Anyone spot this at retail store yet?

Got it earlier in Sg.

Tested it with my new gaming rig. Happy to report that it looked good.
