Actually this is true - max max also gamers will be happy with 3080 / 6800XT, beyond that isn't that worth it.

I mean, nice looking graphics and frame rate is just part of the package - If I can squeeze 1-2 hours of gaming on a weekday is already a blessing tongue.gif
*
yeah, for me 3070 and 6700xt may be already enough for me,
for older game i will just turn the graphic quality to max or even running at 4K, things look really sharp combined with AMD internal sharpening filter.
i have a lot of old games that will still probably looks good in newer GPU, just waiting the gpu price to return to normal lo.

Also Fidelity FSR is coming in june according to rumor.

6900xt still. Selling at 200% msrp here, cheapest is still more expensive than 3080ti,
Retailers here can jack up all they want, people will just wait for next gen lol.

There were once selling at msrp but I guess people sapu them all lol

6800xt for RM2.9k, good price or not?
*
where you buying? beware of shopee and lazada though
SG Lazada here flooded with seller copy info from legitimate seller, then priced with much lower price.
probably offload from mining gpu.

6900XT is selling 4600 myr (1.2k SGD) here

Lazada my. Should wait on 11.11 or rdna 3?
*
RDNA3 launch next week, availability probably another month or next year.
i'd say wait for release and see if there's price drop, normally they have to clear stock to make a way for new stuff coming.

the price is still crazily expensive here.
most shop is still selling gpu like the crypto crash never happened

you mean the price is still high?

But does it sell?

I check online legit reseller but their sales seems stagnant. Not selling much also.

I think we can still wait because economic downturn. Hardly any buyer now.
*
Gigabyte 6900XT is the cheapest here, near msrp but still high, the price here its chaotic mess, 6800XT from gigabyte still selling near 2K, nvidia gpu are still 3K...
no need to guess how well does it sells lol.

6900XT still around RM3.7K
6800XT is around 2.8K~3K

The only thing worth buy is RM2.4K Asus Tuf 6800 OC.

6800XT at RM3K is stupid when I can buy 3080 12GB same price.
*
yup, need to compare with 3080 too, especially RDNA2 still does not have strogn RT performance.
nvidia side sometimes cheaper due to AIB does not setting at cutthroad price.

Who eyeeing for rx7000 series?
*
If price is sweet, my budget is 3.3k. Might consider nvidia too
amd simply don't add new features to old gpu anymore

Just buy a cheap-ish midrange and upgrade every 2 gen. So you don't miss out on new features.
*
i skipped buying anything since the crypto boom until now, luckily my vega 64 still working.

Image sharpening still works, except the super resolution and color enhancement does not exist for old GPU.
still have 2 PC for backup till rx7000 come out.

Remember they mocking nvidia with the 12vhpwr connector?
Both companies probably outsourcing their qa to someone who doesn't know how to test gpu properly 😹

Anyone know which graphic card brand and model the fan does not run if idle like below 40-43'c ?
it's quiet or silent and can adjust with MSI burn to turn off the fan even on 50'c ?
For RX 6600 and below.
*
iirc, you can change the fan curve in the catalyst software, no need another software,

just change the fan curve that below 40c = 0

You can change that from the AMD software. Some GPU has quiet zone so it the fan doesn't spin when below certain temperature...so I enable the custom fan profile and set it to spin 50% above 40c
*
yeah, their gpu are tuned for silent by default.
mine was vega64 and usually the fan noise is almost non existence, and most blower fan are PWM with range from 800 rpm to 6000, very easy to tune and will not have loud noise except when you boot up your pc.

If you understand what i mean , those Mini 2pin is not possible to set to off.Only 3 speed control set by bios or own fan.You can't do anything even you plug out the mini 2 pin into a fan controller , either 30%,50%,100% or 5,12,24 only.Anything lower it'll not run.

So do you know a any fan controller a way to force set a custom fan speed like 20% 500rpm for idle ? I don't mind buying 1 fan speed device controller if can drop to 15% 300rpm.
*
2/3 pins fan have minimum start up voltage, some start at 5v, high powered one usually 7v,
and 2/3 pins fan can be controlled via voltage, the only difference between them is 3rd pin is for reporting tachometer/RPM to mobo or other fan controller.

4pin pwm can be controller via voltage and pwm too.
you can have 12v 6000rpm
or 7v 4500 rpm, for example.

to override the gpu fan voltage you can use psu 7v instead of original 12v, so your fan will operate probably 25% lower speed
https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005004238542471.html

or if you can get one of the speed reducer from nocuta https://www.amazon.sg/dp/B00650P2ZC?flyingspaghettimonster=emc_s_m_5_i_atc

Yes very long long time ago my 3 pin fan only 2 wire use for PSU replacement fan psu can only plug in for 2 pin the speed and airflow just too low so i loop another together leave black wire alone results is much more better than single red wire like you said probably using voltage to operate or trick the speed if you ask me how possibility i don't know but is just work airflow definitely increase a lot more than using just red and black
*
psu fan is usually quiet. some have switch like SeaSonic, cant remember the function, probably to enable zero rpm at low load.
if fan broken usually better to get Noctua or San Ace, both are top notch due to using FDB/ball bearing, quiet, but expensive

increasing psu fan is usually not necessary unless your casing have limited vent,

yes , it's correct where minimum start up voltage is 5v and anything below will not run for those 2 pin.Compare to 4 pin with the 4th pin is pwm , you can change do even at 10% cycle duty.

The link you post like normal 2 pin ,not mini 2 pin.I need a converter to convert from mini 2 pin to 2 pin https://down-my.img.susercontent.com/file/e...47701dfa391dc42

Lets go back to to my question , which AMD gpu RX series or lower gets 4pin ? because every  manufacturer brand model doesn't have image or pdf list the pins.Except go to youtube and watch those disassemble amd card video.
*
do you have brand preference? budget?

if you want quiet and long life then choose blower type, or just go with sapphire, MSI, etc, they usually play nice with the radeon software.

low end eg rx6400 = usually 2 pins only.
i would go for rx6600 or 7600

Oddly from various reviews it seems blower style GPU has worst temps and loudest noise. Hardly a quiet type of cooler.
*
you can tune the noise to your liking, or just stick to default fan speed which is very quiet but high temp, blower type gpu wont dump the heat back to pc, my vega was a tank, had it since 2017 and lasted during the crypto craze, gpu scalper and post covid.

now im happy laptop user lol
