Hi, been using laptop for awhile now since my main rig is not with me.
Planning to do an upgrade for my 7970. Want to ask if downclocking is still an issue with AMD Crimson drivers.
For example, during mid gaming the clock will switch to 3D clocks to 2D clocks for no reason ( Temperature is not an issue here ) causing a short stutter during the clock switch.
Or when in loading screen the clock will become 2D, and 3D back when the game loaded , there is a small delay to get the FPS back to normal after the game loaded.
Worse case is sometimes my card will become "confused" and never return to its 3D clocks or never kick in the first place.
Need to use clockblocker to deal with this =(

anyone having RX480 Crossfire in their setup?
I'm able to get 2 MSI rx480 4gb at rm1900 (around 950 each).. was thinking whether anyone here has that setup ?
I had 2 Fury CF before.. sold it off after getting a gaming laptop, now thinking to build back my gaming rig..

IMO at that price 1070 is more reasonable choice unless the game you'll be playing have great CFX scaling and don't gulp >4GB VRAM. |
