QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Dec 14 2016, 11:18 AM) If you can stand the noise and temperature then it's worth it imo. You need to enable compatibility option to ensure it won't suck >75w from mainboard PCIE slot though. my brothers gtx 1050ti sucking 91 watts from pcie . saw the gpu z log when the gpu boost to 1.7ghz it takes 91 watts damn scary

QUOTE(BlitzAce @ Dec 14 2016, 11:26 AM) Yea, that one, too. Although I'm not saying 'cheaper than RX470', it's just that with a little more I can get the ref RX480 8GB, rather than tricked-out RX470 4GB from other partners. Plus, online vouchers would pop up from time-to-time, like every other sales period. And most of the time I game with a headphone, noise shouldn't be an issue. But the heat, does worry me a bit.. once u bump up the fan speed ur fine

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Dec 14 2016, 01:41 PM) That's typical for a brief moment. My old 290x can get 290watt when overclock+overvolt and that's not total board power. problem is 1050ti no 6 pin connector

QUOTE(kianweic @ Dec 17 2016, 12:00 PM) Finally, some competition at the high end market. Can't have one Company dominating that segment. With ryzen coming soon intel also cant dominate anymore hopefully , AMD and Radeon working realy hard to turn around. Intel and Nvidia cant slack anymore

QUOTE(bingding @ Dec 20 2016, 03:18 PM) hi, i wanna ask. i have r9 390. so far so good. i never update the amd driver since i bought the entire new pc together with the gpu. i heard that if i update the driver, it will not perform as good as the old driver for the same game. meaning that if i update the driver, the gpu may not churn out fps as high as previous driver. is it true? Newer drivers ensures better compatibility with newer titles. Hence performance is quite subject to your setup.

QUOTE(bingding @ Dec 20 2016, 05:37 PM) what about older games which are 2-3 yo, let say dirt 3 for dirt 3 your current gpu can surely max out all details and still hit the magical 60fps mark

QUOTE(BlitzAce @ Dec 22 2016, 02:31 PM) Purchased a XFX RX470, was mulling if I should just add a bit more to get a ref RX480 or even migrate to the green camp, lol, but nostalgia won me back over, and I plan to save the extra for my nephew's GC, too. Oh well, just hoping I can get it before the holidays next week. Fat chance, but.. welllll. should wait for vega

QUOTE(BlitzAce @ Dec 24 2016, 09:43 AM) As much as I would be rooting for Vega, it would totally be out of my range, considering I don't really game that much these days, anyway. Rx470 is the best bang for buck 1080p performer

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Jan 13 2017, 02:57 PM) If that is the case and that Vega is faster than 1080, then the price should be at least similar to 1080 not lower imo. still engineering sample cant say much hope for the best its a fury x done right

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Feb 1 2017, 07:54 PM) Yes. R9 280 going at 135sgd, r9 290 at 160sgd. Is the difference huge? I contemplating whether want to get cheaper card, but the pricing gap is very minimal, i will be gaming at 1920 la. Rx470 going 900++ if not wrong. best to go with rx470 better TDP.

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Feb 7 2017, 11:21 AM) Jayz 480 GTR is definitely silicon lottery, i've seen 480 GTR barely overclock to 1400mhz and some get to 75c-80c at stock. But it is one of the best build RX-480 alongside 480 Strix and maybe Nitro. MSI Gaming is no slouch either, so try to pick the cheapest between all these 4 cards. From Haswell Core-i3 is good enough for Polaris imo, for older gen you need i5 at least from my experience. Did you try reinstall the driver? Or use DDU. ooh i jayz rx480 silicone lottery hahahaha damn power that gpu, btw i just bought a rx470 8gb from bro najmods, sold my 980ti as i got a good resale price hehehehehe.

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Feb 7 2017, 09:34 PM) I don't know how to answer this, 8GB is probably the better choice in the long run but when? I know the new RE is very heavy on texture but the impact is much smaller when you turn off shadow caching iirc. If you want a tier higher overall performance the 4GB 480 is the better choice than 8GB 470 imo. Good to know.. najmod quit pc mastah race? How much you sell the card for? Don't feel like selling mine now.. waiting for real gimping driver then baru can sell. not to sure najmod quit or not, sold my 980ti as im planning for a ps4 pro, i had a r9 380 as backup but gpu dieded all of a sudden and sent for rma, no gpu. price he sold to me is reasonable gpu very new actually. Not too bad la this rx470 can play rise of tomb raider at very high settings dx12 @ 1080p very well.

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Feb 8 2017, 12:53 AM) Ahh.. i was thinking about getting one as well but now thinking about borrowing from a friend instead because i only want to play 2-3 games. Rx-470 is as powerful as your old R9-290 but perform much faster in Gameworks/CPU intensive games.. try drive in pCars to see the difference if you still play that game. Serious pcars better performance? Will try it

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Feb 11 2017, 03:13 PM) Small boxes appearing here & there while playing several games & some games even crashes back to desktop The card is factory overclocked to 1150MHz Downclocked the card to 1100MHz then everything is smooth again The water pump on the GPU also sometimes doesn't run when the PC hasn't been turned on for several days, had to knock softly on the back of the GPU then only the pump will work Want to wait until RX 490 is released because if I RMA now, afraid they will only replace it with RX 480 Hahahaha u smart bugger, good for you if they replace with Vega
