a long time ago, i purchased an ipod touch from amazon US. only because of international warranty. so how about this option? any chance to get international warranty? otherwise, it's quite a gamble yo...
edit: i was lucky... a few weeks later, the unit got that white screen of death. brought it to authorized apple store, dealer or whatever... got replaced (with a bit of waiting time, of course).

The seller told me it under international warranty. Yes. It like putting RM4k into gamble unless there is good feedback and worth gamble. So wanna know anyone bought US set in Malaysia and experience so far.

maybe you can try to browse online for buying the mac book - see if there really is international warranty offered by Apple. iirc - when i bought my ipod touch, the iphone did not have international warranty.
if got international warranty, i would personally buy. anything more than RM 1k, it's mandatory for me to get international warranty. and since the unit is already here, you don't have to worry about customs holding on to the unit - right?

Normally they do offer international warranty for macbook, not sure if it's still applicable here in Malaysia since there's no apple store in Malasysia.

Anything that is portable (except the iPhone) has international warranty. US set cheaper meh? It's odd because with the exchange rates, the US sets should be more expensive than buying it here in KL. If you're a new user, I suggest you buy the unit here unless U have a sifu that can teach you how to navigate the machine - that way, at least the store in which you purchased the machine from will be able to help you and give you tips This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Nov 7 2016, 10:03 AM

So you can go to any authorised apple reseller in Malaysia to claim the warranty. No issue other than the power plug has a 2-pin adapter instead of a 3-pin one.

splinter You should also check how old the unit is; and how long the warranty is up till. A new one comes with 1 Year, and U can buy AppleCare for an extended 2 years warranty.
