I think the point Lego is trying to get across is that overall it isn't that much of a weight advantage.
When you use models like A7, you'd want to pair it with a great lens. So the total weight isn't that far off by then, like when you pair the best 24-70 available for them.
Then factor in the number of batteries for the mirrorless system. Body like A7 would drain battery for stuff like EVF and sensor stabilization. Furthermore being a mirrorless body the battery is often more compact thus having less juice per charge.
Right! I've been waiting for the Holy Grails of the lightest FF camera set up for years mainly for travelling. Was excited when Sony first announced FF mirrorless but after doing the maths i'm back to square one

Point is, if you've started off with an unbiased comparison, there will be no bones to be picked here.
I'm a DSLT user by the way. I not on the mirrorless bandwagon. Chill your balls.
Point is, that comparison is an example. If you wanted to make a precise comparison do it all the way since you already prod the internet.

Not to sure about that. I mean sure, it pushed canon to release eos m line but if it is that lackluster, they better off just stick with what they have been doing best. Eos M5 at first may seem like a step in right direction but that price point and almost no interest to fast tracking eos m lens line up seem to prove otherwise. Makes me feel like canon will abandon eos m like sony making A mount cam in hiatus for long time.
Dont get me wrong i really want eos m5 to succeed forcing sony to realise what consumers like me actually want in a decent "photographic" compact camera than pandering to videographer (sorry to video guys).
Wasn't specifically pointing out on Canon, but the industry as a whole. Honestly Canon's mirrorless offerings are very lackluster and so far their new products are quite disappointing except for their lenses.
