Hi all!

I recently took out my 24-105mm lens to play around with it. To my hearts demise, it came to my notice that minute spots of moisture/fungus was developing within the inner optics of the lens.

How much would it cost to get it cleaned here in Malaysia? A rough estimate would be much appreciated so I can gauge the damage.

EDIT : I also have a 50mm F1.8 that is horrendously infested with fungus. I haven't done rigorous white wall testing or anything like that, but the fungus is very visible (unlike that of my L lens which has apparently better insulation). I'd like to also know how much it'd cost to get this guy cleaned.

I didn't attach a photo of my 24-105mm because the fungus isn't nearly as bad as the one above, but I believe it demands attention sooner than never before it starts etching into the optics as it has probably done with my 50mm prime

last time i read (never go for cleaning myself), it was around rm200. doesn't seem to vary much on which lens (i bet the larger diameter would warrant higher price though)

take this info with a grain of salt cause this was an info from years old threads

Is better you check with the shop. Price would be vary in different shop. Unless you sending back to manufacturer which could be pricey.
