On SME's Facebook, still got ex-Note 7 users asking for special treatment and discounts again. I wonder when will it end, hahaha....

They asked for special treatment when S8 and S8+ launched, then they also asked when Note 8 launched

I guess it’s interesting for those who are still on the Note 5 and haven’t made the leap to Note 8. The price gap is significant! I did not get a chance to own the 7 coz the recalls started before I could make up my mind so I might be interested to get one down the road when it gets cheaper or if someone decides to let theirs go early

Considering the FE is cheaper by more than 1k, that’s normal. For 2.5k though there are many other Android flagships available, unless one really needs to have the S-Pen, or one truly is a Samsung fan.

Ya, my sentiments exactly. Unless you absolutely need the S-Pen and can’t afford the Note 8, only then is the Note FE a good buy.

Ya, some people loved the Note 7 look and feel over other flagships. Cheers buddy!

Actually, I don’t win, ha ha. In fact I lose quite a bit of money funding this ridiculous hobby of trying new phones but oh well, can’t afford to try cars.

The problem is not that bro, I kinda like trying out new UI and features but the problem is I set up every Android phone as new, which means I end up installing over 40 to 50 of my most used apps over and over again, ha ha...

Ya, I tried restoring from an old backup before on Android and had some massive battery drain issues - if not mistaken it was on a Note 5. After consulting with some Android experts, they suggested I try setting up as new instead of restoring and it works like a charm. Am not sure if this problem still exists though, Android has improved by leaps and bounds since.

The idea only works if

a) you buy the new phone heavily discounted
b) you buy a used phone in very new condition

Otherwise, you'd lose too much and that hobby is not sustainable financially

No la, not expecting the phone to perform miracles, just putting an old regret to bed having missed out on this phone before the explosion saga. I'll probably get a used unit just to toy with it for a while.
